I work in the area and the last few times I've been in Mt. Gilead I've stopped here. The first time I stopped in the ladies working there were incredibly nice and even sat down across from me to say hello. My boss and I stopped in yesterday to talk for an hour or so and they consistently show great hospitality and fantastic food. One of the best coffee shops in the area without a doubt.

Awesome coffee, roasted by people who care. If Starbucks is a peck on the cheek, this place is eyes closed, open mouthed, caffeine-fuelled, awesomeness. Get you some!

This place is a blast from the past with a modern coffee drinks.

Just got a regular coffee to go but it was really good and easy to self-serve and get out. Haven't been in there in a long time and under new management it's much less cluttered in there and easy to move around. They're short on parking when busy with all the street parking consumed but they make up for it with the super-helpful and attentive help. All-in-all well done and keep up the good work!

Good coffee, nice place to meet for a quick bite or to relax and read. Friendly staff. Excellent way to keep it local and support small business.

This is the most lovely little coffee shop. They have a wide variety of blended, iced and warm drinks. I got a pumpkin spice frappe and it was so smooth and fluffy and 100 times better than any large chain I have ever been to.

Great experience. An old friend and I came here to catch up and grab a quick bite to eat. The food was great, the coffee was awesome, and the hospitality was fantastic. I would recommend coming here to get some work done, chat with a friend, or just enjoy a calm, relaxing atmosphere

Best coffee in Morrow County that I know of!!! They also have wonderful and healthy breakfast and lunch choices along with the sweet tooth options as well. I'm so happy to see that the previous owner is back along with her more homemade style food. I appreciate how much love, time, and hard work she puts into this little gem of Mt Gilead!

If atmosphere is your deal, Sames & Cook will work just great for you. Its probably 99% real deal time travel. I mean its not made to look oldtime, it IS OLDTIME. From the very high ceilings to the counter tops, they're legit...even antique! Very cozy, down home with a touch of reality.

Now about WHY YOU CAME... I can't say with certainty, but I'm pretty sure a lot of what I ate came from a box...hopefully not an old box, but a box nevertheless. I mean it tasted good. You know, like boxed macaroni tastes good.

I had Biscuits & Gravy, the large order and bacon...oh, and a very good coffee with cream and some added vanilla. The meal didn't seem like a large at all...maybe my 5 1/2 month old grand daughter might have been impressed. The biscuits were small and the gravy thin and little/not much sausage. It didn't taste bad...just average. The bacon was limp as I requested but cold. When some say cold they mean not hot. I mean cold. I love limp bacon but when its cold...not so much.

The waitress was kind and even refreshing. Not fake kind like some can be but genuinely nice!

So if you're lookingvfor atmosphere and don't mind average... go for it. Overall, it was a pleasant visit...just not great.

Best protein shakes ever! I love the Green Monster and PB &J shake, both amazing and so fresh. Its a cute place to caught up with friends or to have a business meeting. Adorable style in the inside. One amazing staff, always so friendly and inviting.
