Sanitary Cafe

New staff is a little slow, but the ones with more experience are excellent! The food is always amazing! Burgers and chicken stuff is my personal favorite. Homey and cozy. I love the old memorabilia on the walls.

I am from the area and I have a friend from out of state with me. I have been to this establishment many times and suggested we drive 30 miles to eat here. The food is excellent however the service by the wait staff was below acceptable on this visit. We arrived and were told to take a seat anywhere. We sat at the only available table which was still uncleared. We sat for 10 minutes, no one ever came to our table with offers to clean it with menus or asked for our drink orders. We finally stopped a waitress who was cleaning a table beside us if we could get service. She said sure pulled dirty plates off our table but never returned. We waited.... we then asked another for menus and we had to get them ourselves. She then came to our table with an attitude. Very bad attitude too. Her name was Kenna. We almost left then but asked to speak to an owner/manager. John the acting manager came to assist us. He offered to be our server himself and offered to totally comp our meal. We reluctantly accepted. He worked very hard to make up this horrible experience. Cudos to John! As we ate we were totally ignored as in shunned by the rest of the staff. They would not look us in the eyes. They never offered to refill water or drinks, etc. A young busgirl was very friendly and sweet and told us bye and have a good day as we left. It is questionable if we will give them a second chance.

Great down homestyle breakfast! Came from Tampa Fl to take care of something and was not let down! Fresh homemade biscuits, sausage and awesome pancakes!!

I love this place, the food and service has always been great. Go try it out if you haven't already.👍

Excellent chicken livers lots of "country" dishes ( including fried fat back). Service was good. I would have scored them higher but the sanitation rating was 90 - maybe not too sanitary

The food was good. Servings large. Had to get a to go box. Young lady who served us was was very friendly and efficient. Southern cooking.

Quaint place with some awesome antiques inside. decor was great awesome fast service . Food was great.

Their children tip's used to be Awesome, but they just are not as good as the used to be. I don't know if they have a new cook or what going on but the last two times had them the flavor that I love so much just hasent been there. I miss the old Sanatery and the old wait staff. It's really fell off in the past few years.😢
