AWESOME PLACE! We love to come here year round. Kids have a blast. Ice Cream is delicious, food is SUPERB. Order the pasta salad, any wrap, any sandwich, heck everything is phenomenal. And the service is always on point too!

Great local restaurant that serves wonderful hand made ice cream. The staff here is super friendly and the owners are awesome people!

Cute, family friendly atmosphere that's a great place for kids and parents! About the same price range as chick fil-a but higher quality food. Kids love it, there is even a play area. and the food is not kidding around, it's really great stuff. I used to eat here all the time when I worked downtown. Also great ice cream and milkshakes.

I really wanted to like this place but there is a strong stale smell upon entering; it smells like an old Tupperware container from the 70s. Almost all the ice cream samples that I tried had a freezer burnt taste. I found a flavor that tasted fresh and had a milkshake from it and that was great, just not the flavor I would have wanted if it had been fresh. I do love the little children's area in the back. I'll try it again sometime to give it a second shot.

Edit: This visit was not today, it was back in December. I received a notification on my phone saying I had been there and asking me to answer questions about the location and to give a review. I vividly remember this visit so I decided to go ahead and leave the review now. We figured the season meant less people going out for ice cream and maybe that meant the ice creams weren't made fresh as often, but just a guess. Hopefully, when I try it again, I can update and give more stars.

Definitely an interesting joint in a little town called New Bern. The decor will interest and astound you to an extend that will make you pause and look around before you head for your ice cream.

We had sandwiches, ice creams and shakes from here. The chicken salad sandwich was average. I tasted the Black Walnut, Udder Pecan, Cookie Monster, Almond Amaretto and Pistachio. I felt the Black Walnut was a bit too sweet for my liking. However, they are a good choice if you are doing shakes as it brings the sweetness down by a noticeable notch. I had the udder pecan ice cream which I found to be best of the ones that I had tasted.

They do have a nice kids party lounge at the back of the cafe. On both our visits, we saw different parties celebrating birthdays. The service was cordial and prompt with our orders.

If you are not an ice cream person, stop by here for the decor for the least.

Tip: Locals claim their apple pie are the best. We didn't get a chance to try them.

Food was good. Portions were a bit small for the price.

Very weird experience. We went for ice cream on a Friday night and before we entered a worker came outside and told us we would have to be quick to get one. We bustled inside only to realize we had a solid 20 minutes until 9, when they closed. The two men were rather brisk and borderline rude and it felt very clear they wanted us out. The one at the register kept telling one of us to order from him and increasingly raised his voice. Ice cream tasted fine and the price was similar to other ice cream shops but the customer service was severely lacking. Would not recommend taking your family here.

We LOVE the Cow Cafe!! The icecream is homemade and is the best icecream in the universe! Their wraps and sandwiches are tasty, too!

The Cow Cafe is a great local spot to get ice cream downtown. They always have unique ice cream flavors to try if you like breaking away from the traditional vanilla or chocolate. They have a food menu as well that offers other great food items to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly for the most part. Every once and a while you'll have the chance to work with someone who isn't to happy to be there but the ice cream is still good without their smile...

I feel this is a lovely little cafe.my sandwich was great and portion filling. The prices are what I would expect. Ice cream prices are on line with good scoop ice cream. This is a casual atmosphere, clean and basic. Perfect for bringing the family. Now, to try my first icecream.
