Cow Cafe

Wonderful experience... except for a Rude Customer who was More special than anyone else in the place. The gentleman behind the counter was trying to get her taken care of. But quality food takes time to prepare... a concept she could not comprehend.
Owner stopped by our table to check on our orders... and everything was Spot On. Will be a regular stop any time we are in the area.

The owners sent me a nice message after a bad experience in the evening. I have been to the cow cafe multiple times during the day and they do have the friendliest staff during the day. The older gentleman with the grey hair I've only seen during day time (not to be confused with the older person I had this evening) visits is the nicest most helpful person. I had an issue with the evening crew. I personally think their ice cream is amazing and the meatball sandwich I had there once was better than any meatball sandwich or sub. I'm from Texas, so meatballs and meatball sandwiches aren't a thing back home. I changed my rating from 2 stars to four because the place really is good and everyone deserves a second chance who genuinely cares about what their customers have to say and I believe the owners care.

I've been here a couple of times during the day where the staff was wonderful. I just walked out. While I'm looking at the menu the young kid behind the counter was laying his head on the cash register. The other older guy seemed to be upset about something and was not friendly or welcoming in any sort of way. I felt like I was truly a bother and they just wished I would leave. I wasn't about to let these people prepare my food.

The food is yummy, the ice cream out of this world. The cow puns kept cracking me up!

The ice cream was so good, we had to come back for another serving! We also ordered the pop corn and it was just as good as movie theater popcorn! They have a ton of ice cream flavors thay have quirky names. I had the coffee ice cream and it was amazing! My Fiancee had the mooey cowphooey and she loved it! The ice cream is very creamy and super flavorful! After the first day of having it, we didn't even wanna try anywhere else for ice cream!

Was not impressed. Very disorganized service. Had to pay twice because they switched people while checking out, and didn’t get my whole order. I thought this was an ice cream shop. They only have like 8 flavors? We stood there forever and nobody asked us what we wanted. So I think we were supposed to order at the register? Even though they saw us standing there forever?? And the young girl was rude to my friend! It was very hot inside and it smelled awful. Needs a remodel for sure. Very tacky. Hard pass. Do better. This was 5/28/22.

The food was over priced for what you got. It was very tasty the Caesar salad in my opinion is a Caesar salad because it should be premixed but it was not it was basically a bed of lettuce with a tiny cup of dressing I would not recommend. But the worst part about it was the customer service the staff or the people behind the counter were extremely rude and seemed very frustrated by us ordering food you almost felt uncomfortable even ordering anything this was my first Time to new Bern and we were highly recommended to go to this place and just due to the customer service I would probably not go back here

What might have been the owner (an older gentleman) was really nice to everyone when he came out after I got my order and took a seat. But the two young people (a young woman with curly hair and young man with locs) were lackluster. They seemed like they were a little annoyed and a little lost. Its such a cheerful looking little place but those two just didn't match the atmosphere. I dont know if they just didn't like me or what but they were just blah. The way they took my order and kept forgetting it was weird, I only ordered one thing. But they weren't rude, they just seemed like they didn't want to be there. And that kind of made me want to hurry and leave. The ice cream was really good and the place was clean and whimsical.

We love coming here!! The ice cream is delicious, the employees are friendly, and we all love watching the little train go around the store. My toddler loves the playroom in the back!

Nice place for quick sandwiches and excellent ice cream

Food was good and staff was friendly but if you're looking for a place to relax this is not it as parents seem to think it's appropriate to let their children run wild. There may be a play area but jeez, its still a place of business and kids are screaming and fighting while the parents ignore them. There were older kids beating up littles to get on the baby toys. It was insane and I honestly felt so bad for staff because they looked so overwhelmed and miserable having kids scream at them over ice cream.
