Very good ice cream, didn't really offer topping options to me, and it is very expensive compared to just making some ice cream at home. But a decent experience if you're in town.

Overpriced $3.95 for I scoop and not that special. Wouldn’t come here if there is better choices.

Ridiculously overpriced! 0ver 6.00 for a single scoop of so so ice cream. We won’t be back.

Wanted chocolate or vanilla but they were out of both. Ordered the last scoop of Strawberry and they dropped it on the floor. Didnt want any other flavor after those 3. Employee said they just started there and whoever was there didnt order product so they were out of almost everything as they had not gotten anything in 2 weekz. I feel bad for the employee as they were trying but the state of the store was so bad the employee wasnt able to give a quality experience. I would give my review a 0 if possible. Prices arent great but im willing to pay a premium in a tourist area as long as the service is good and the product is good which it obviously was not.
Q: how does a homemade ice cream store that advertises homemade ice cream daily not have ice cream? Sound like they dont make it at all.

i do not like ice cream very much. i eat ice cream here every single time i possibly can when i’m in the outer banks in the summers. it is the only place i like ice cream from. i live over 1300 miles away but when i think about ice cream, i think about big buck’s.

It honestly is pretty great and 5-star worthy, but I took off a star because of the price and inconsistency of the "scooping." Over the summer, we've been to both the Manteo waterfront and Corolla locations a lot; probably a dozen times. We definitely will keep going back, but it is expensive. For two waffle cones, it's over $11 and that's before tipping, which I always do because the staff at both locations are always friendly. Last year, I had plain chocolate ice cream at the Corolla location and it was the creamiest, most delicious chocolate I've ever had...I even had others stealing bites. All of us have gotten it chocolate at both locations again later last year and this year and it just wasn't the same. I guess I got a wonderful fluke. Sometimes, one person's 2-scoops are pretty small whereas another person's 2-scoops are heaping and more worthy of the price. The ice cream is very good; I sometimes question just how "homemade" it is. Maybe it's homemade by a corporation somewhere, but either way, it's well above avaerage ice cream. We went yesterday and will likely go back today since we'll be in Manteo again. We love the Cake Batter ice cream!

ice cream here was great! however, the prices advertised are NOT. they advertise their prices as much lower than when you purchase it. for example, the medium cup is advertised as 3.95, but when I went to buy it it ended up totaling around 6 dollars. very upset about spending 6 dollars on a small serving with average tasting ice cream.

can’t really rate the ice cream itself, considering they closed half an hour early (7/18)...they have a big sign out front that says “open late”, but turned away at least 3 groups of 4+ people in 5 minutes when we were there, because “nobody was coming in”. more like they wanted to go home early, which I understand but was ridiculous when they’re one of the only places “open late” for ice cream in the area and they were honestly just being selfish and lazy. I’m usually not one to post negative reviews but this kind of just rubbed everyone there the wrong way, (literally everyone in my group asked me to post this hahah) and I hope someone puts a stop to it, for the sake of others who might be disappointed.

We were on vacation and really wanted to try the homemade ice cream. we stopped twice in what the web says is their designated hours but they were not open. very disappointed that the hours aren't correct especially in a tourist town.

Absolutely terrible for many reasons. Bad customer service (they all seemed very annoyed), bad and overpriced everything, they were out of multiple ingredients, and the very WORST thing of all, they had no prevention for COVID-19. They had a max occupancy of 10, but when we walked in, there was easily over 25 people in line and 5-6 behind the counter. They had servers that weren’t wearing gloves or masks, and they didn’t enforce their 6 feet apart stickers that they had on the floor. I’d try to avoid coming here at all costs. Definitely 1 Star, no doubt!
