Interesting little place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I walked in right after opening and the guys were super friendly. You get a lot for your money here, that mug was huge. I’d certainly go back but I don’t live in the area, so I’ll just have to go again next time I’m in town. There are other shops in town, and I don’t know how they compare, but Black Beard is worth trying out.

Baristas are simply the best. Coffee is always good, never too sweet and never too bitter. Let them know your tastes and they will make you an amazing drink (-:

Great local coffee shop with a knowledgeable & friendly staff. Love that they focus on quality, small batch roasting (which you can taste the difference). They feature awesome pastries from Great Harvest Bread Company & they're an awesome member of the Uptown Greenville Community. Highly recommend 👍

My favourite spot for coffee in the Greenville area!! Very cool spot with amazing drinks!! My favourite is their Cortado! The owners and the employees are also super friendly and have upstanding service!! Highly recommended!!

Visiting my son at ECU and ran across this place across from his dorm. What a pleasant surprise! Alternatives to dairy are extensive and better than I have tasted in a very long time. The customer service was polite and professional with a caring smile. I will definitely be back!

One of my favorite places to visit. Their coffee is great. Their chocolate chip cookies are out of this world. The service is always friendly and helpful

Ordered a different drink that I didn’t particularly like but Loni (sorry for any misspelling!) did her best to make sure it was something I loved and was super friendly about it!

Blackbeard is such a great little coffee shop. They roast their own beans on site, serve Great Harvest pastries (Hummingbird Muffin is my favorite), and support local artists by selling their coffee-related gear in store, like local potter Erika Gibson's handmade custom Blackbeard-branded coffee mugs.
So is the coffee any good? Heck yeah!
I moved here from Seattle in 2016, and Blackbeard wasn't open yet, so there were only a few options for really good coffee. Starbucks does not count. If you like Starbucks, this may not be your place. However, they do make a really great caramel macchiato in the Starbucks style.
They opened in September 2017 and my husband became a regular while I was studying abroad in Italy. When I got back, I ordered a cappuccino and it was perfecto! They also sell a Cortado which is 2oz coffee, 2oz steamed milk. A great little pick me up without too much milk to cover the coffee flavor.
Their style is decidedly more in the Italian vein, so tell them how you like your coffee or ask how their offerings are prepared to make sure you're going to get what you want. They are happy to remake a drink if it's not quite what you wanted.

Made a really nice cortado to go in a perfect little cup. Great afternoon pick-me-up

Hands down best coffee in Greenville. We love supporting local businesses, and it helps that the coffee is superb and staff friendly.
