Great atmosphere. The quality of coffee is exceptional. I ordered a pour over and it is out of this world.

Great food (before 12), great staff, what else is there to say? Comfortable outdoor patio for Covid times.

While visiting a friend in Durham, we decided to grab a quick cappuccino at 'People's Coffee'. Upon entrance, there was a short line of customers which we took to be a good sign. This was the first time either of us had ever entered the establishment and our hopes were high. Not two seconds after walking in, we hear a horrible yelling coming from the kitchen. A tall, bald man who looked to be of Middle Eastern descent, who I can only assume was the manager, was pointing and shouting at the employees as if they were scurrying rats. His eyes, blazed red with anger, as his boisterous voice grew colder. The other potential customers talked amongst themselves, and a couple, second in line, walked for the door with a look of disgust on their face. I believe the feeling of pity for those working in this establishment was mutually shared amongst it's guests. It was too late to turn back. We were now at the counter. I wanted out and I wanted out now. I decided against the cappuccino and ordered a coffee. Anything to get me out of there quicker. My friend did the same and we waited patiently, watching with the same anxiousness one feels whilst listening to a domestic dispute. Our coffee was ready. We grab it, find a seat, and drink as quickly as we can. Two gulps in, and I struggle to keep the coffee down. It tasted as if it was too strong, yet weak, all at the same time. I felt as if I had poured the culmination of several weeks worth of coffee down my throat at once. I'm 100% certain the filters here are used time after time, and would have to be, to achieve such a taste. I can only imagine this is an effort on the manager's part to "save money". I've met many men like him in the past, and I'm familiar with the narcissistic mindset they all share. I felt sad for those individuals who are forced to work in a such an establishment, and I hope to God that I never return.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars is that there were some grounds in the bottom of my cold brew.

This shop used to be great. Baristas were skilled, knowledgeable and well-versed in the coffees they were providing. But the owner/management only cares about money. When 2 of my favorite baristas pushed back on the lack of quality in the shop they basically were told to loosen their standards and eventually fired. No longer will be visiting or recommending people visit here. If you are reading this save yourself some money and get a coffee from the gas station across the street.

This place is awesome. Very simple menu and excellent lattes. My wife had the mocha, which uses the local chocolatier, Videri and I had a latte with caramel spice and off the cold press almond milk. The drink also left me feeling healthy afterwards. Highly recommend this place!

It is really hard to find great coffee in the triangle... but People’s is supplied award winning Black and White Roasters. It is amazing and the staff are always there to brighten your day.

I’m truly in love with this coffee. I almost never buy coffee in a Coffee shop and if i do i certainly never get flavored syrups. This place has changed me and I’m hooked for life. Their homemade syrups are off the hook good and the maple view farms milk is just a crazy perfect combo. Alexis always makes me a exactly what i want and how i want it! she’s amazing! Great place.
