Clayton Bakery & Cafe

Customer service at Clayton Bakery is HORRIBLE. The staff is always rude. The cakes are absolutely delicious, but it isn't worth dealing with the staff. It doesn't matter who answers the phone or is working the counter. They are ALL NEVER focused on customer service which is super sad since their cakes really are yummy. Spend some time at Disney and figure out how to be friendly and kind to your customers, Clayton Bakery - if you do that, you might actually make people happy.

I used to love to go to Clayton Bakery for lunch or a snack. The food is still good but the service is in a downhill spiral. Today both orders were wrong. The lady taking our order cut me off while ordering to the point where I gave up. Won't be going out of my way to have lunch there.

Being from New York I was ecstatic to find this charming bakery with all the delicious goods I remembered as a child. The only bakery of its kind in the area that I’m aware of. However, upon my first visit and spending over $26, I found some of the items to be stale ( the black and white cookies). I called and informed the establishment and the teenager that answered said ok and that was it. Not letting this deter me, I went back and encountered more stale items. Extremely disappointed and I will not be back as the items are not inexpensive.

Clayton Bakery is terrific, I come all the way from Raleigh to get their honey bun. Like biting into lovely, sugary air. May want to call ahead though as they do sell out. There is a young man behind the counter named Jake, that has the best personality. Helpful and Friendly...a great combo; they are lucky to have him!

A great local hot spot. Awesome customer service and amazing treats. They always remember my order. It is a weekly stop for me. My coworkers love when I bring donuts from Clayton Bakery!

I was surprised to come in and see that the hole place had changed only been a couple times before and really wasn't impressed and the selection was not huge. But since you guys opened up your walls i was shocked to find pretty much anything i was looking for. The coffee was freah and very tasty and i finally got to choose from a different arrangement of goodies. We will be regulars im sure.

Excellent Italian pastries. They fill the cannolis when you order them and don't just leave them sitting around getting mushy. Their tiramisu could be creamier but it is tasty and the eclairs are awesome. The Italian bread is soft, unfortunately, because they put it in plastic when it comes out of the oven instead of paper but hopefully they fix it. No one wants soft Italian bread. If they fixed the bread issue this place would be 5 stars.
The store itself is very nice with tables where you can sit and eat while drinking a coffee.

This is a gem in the Clayton community! All of their products are fresh and delicious. Definitely worth the drive from Raleigh and surrounding cities.

Special ordered dinner rolls, commonly referred to as "snowflake rolls." They were beautifully baked, and tasted great! Actually found them to be better (both texture and taste) than ones we have purchased in the past from a well-known grocery bakery in Raleigh.

I ordered my tenth cake that I have ordered from here for a party this weekend. Absolutely amazed as always. Never have to give it a second thought when I order from here. Always perfect cakes. Everyone at the party was impressed!!!
