The Times Bar & Coffee Shop

Love everything about The Times! The ambiance, the staff, the cocktails- both seasonal and classics. Don’t even get me started on boozy (or non-boozy) coffees. A definite must while you’re downtown.

This is a very cool bar. It is set up to give a speak easy vibe and has an old school vibe. The bartenders were extremely kind and provided us with great information on where to go in Ashville. I recommend this place as they have a hefty selection of bourbon on deck.

A fun coffee and cocktail bar. Really delicious and unique flavors of both. But my favorite thing about it is the atmosphere. There is an art-deco, fun and luxe feel that makes special occasions and regular days feel a little extra.

Not only are the staff pleasant and helpful, but the drinks are superb and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the #squashgoals for anyone who thinks pumpkin spice is usually done wrong. It's bright, refreshing, and spicy in all the right ways. To top it all off, the decor is elegant and makes excellent use of a historic space.

Nice cocktail and whisky bar. The whisky selection is huge and includes a good amount of Scotch and Japanese whisky. The prices and quality on the cocktails are typical of this area (very tasty and very expensive). Prices on Scotch actually aren't that bad. Very dark lighting. Would go again.

This review is for my husband, as I don't drink. Although, I will add that the customer service is amazing and the ambiance and atmosphere of this place is classy and Devine. My husband still talks about his cocktail and craves it. This place REALLY has specialty cocktails. They aren't just alcohol with mixers. They are top notch, hand crafted, delicious ingredients!

Great bar with great bartenders. Craft cocktails, upscale, and unpretentious. Hard to find that combination in Asheville but they nailed it. Awesome whisky selection, even fairer prices. If you are looking for an intimate drink and snacks from a place with great offerings, step in, order a whisky and chat up a bartender.

Visited Asheville for a few days and found this place by chance on the first night. I was compelled to return two more times despite the area being saturated with plenty of other bars. The Times at S&W (and the jazz club underneath) is an authentic experience. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable of their craft and exceptionally kind and helpful in sharing it. The drinks are works of art. The world has many-a craft cocktail bar, but ones that are this genuine and engaging are rare.

The cocktails are amazing! We have enjoyed cocktails at some great bars, but these are some of the best.

The owner/bartender made me a Vieux Carre, which I had never had before, and it was delicious. He took the time to write down the recipe for me.

We also had a soft pretzel that was outstanding! The cheese dip is to die for.

The music selection, classic rock, added to the overall experience.
