City Bakery

I adore this restaurant. Their food is delicious, menu options are priced fairly, service is fast and friendly, and the location and atmosphere are perfect. My favorite thing to order has to be the avocado toast; it's the best I've had from anywhere around! 10/10 <3

I’m a regular here! The staff is amazing and really gets to know the regulars, is friendly, patient and kind toward All. The food is supple, and they have many options. My go too is Iced coffee... even if it’s cold out. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing and majority of them are customizable. You get exactly what you pay for and it’s totally worth it!

We were in Asheville on a vacation and had breakfast here every single morning for three days. The food is amazing.
Note to owners and managers: you are charging way too less for your items. You can easily increase most prices by a dollar or more and pay more to your employees if nothing g else. Fresh squeezed OJ for three dollars, two avacado toasts for the price of one … even McDonald’s doesn’t offer that!

My favorite cafe and sandwich shop in town. The cheddar scallion biscuit sandwiches are poppin. The TAB sandwich has a recurring role in my dreams. No complaints about this place at all.

So we had plans to visit a variety of different Asheville coffee shops and bakeries…. But we only made it to City Bakery - and went back 3 days in a row!!! My husband and I each got a different breakfast sandwich every day and all of them were phenomenal! The iced coffee was a perfect way to start our day! Our pup enjoyed sitting with us outside the bakery. It was just down the street from our Airbnb which was a pleasant surprise!

We grabbed a couple sandwiches from here to take with us hiking and we're super impressed! The club was yummy. I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich, which I was nervous would be soggy hours later when we got to the top of the mountain, but I was delighted to find that it was in just as good of shape as when I picked it up earlier that day. It was super delicious. Friendly service over the phone and at check out. Would highly recommend.

Super quick service.
Leaving Asheville, we picked up a sticky bun and cinnamon roll for breakfast the following day. Come to find out, our hotel didn't have a microwave in the room...even served room temp, both items were good the following day (and my husband can be picky when it comes to breakfast pastries). I can't give them less than 5 stars as I can only imagine how yummy they'd be if we'd had them fresh and warm! If we had a City Bakery back home, we'd be regulars.

Ok coffee and so-so pastries. The coffee was good but I ordered a moka that was "not." No flavor added, it was just coffee. The pastry was not fresh. I'm sure if I had been there a couple days earlier... But that was not the plan and I don't really have intentions to return.

The contact-free pickup has worked flawlessly for us. We order the night before and pick up in the morning. The only problem is we are now eating way too much bread and other delicious baked goods! Thank you!

Absolutely love City Bakery. Wonderful, fresh food, and they don’t price gauge their customers like a couple cafés around town whose names I won’t mention. This makes me very loyal. Love the pastries, the sandwiches, the BREAD! I also buy their bread at Ingles to enjoy at home sometimes. And have I mentioned the Mexican hot chocolate? Or the golden milk with roasted coriander? To die for!! I haven’t experienced any poor customer service either. So happy to find out I can sit inside now and not have to eat in my car. I was so scared they’d close permanently because of the economy. Keep up the good work, guys! ❤️
