Having recently moved into White Plains, I’ve been checking out local businesses near my apartment. A few days ago I noticed the Hastings Tea & Coffee cafe on Main Street and couldn’t help but appreciate how happy their customers limbed who were seated at their outside tables enjoying their drinks. I decided that I had to drop by for an almond latte. When I walked into the cafe I was surprised to see that in addition to the impressive coffee, tea and desserts, they also sold bottles of wine snd even have a wine of the month club! While I was there, I watched how dedicated the staff was in helping their other customers and when I asked Jay if he could help me buy a bottle of wine, he suggested I speak to Bill who was more educated on their wines. After spending about twenty minutes learning about their wines, I ended up purchasing a Spanish from Portugal and a red from France.
I’m Not a connoisseur if wines but my friends were blown away by my selection and while I had only gone into the cafe for their coffee, I had discovered a great new go to place for wine too!

We had enjoyed this place a lot for a long time. The taste of the tea latte was changed and very watery compared to many previous one. (I had thought this tea latte was the best one ever but not recently.) When we told them that the taste was different compared to previous one, they just stared at us with speechless. I expected that they would try something for it by themselves. Even though I don't know the reason why the taste was changed, they only did what I requested to do without thinking. I was so disappointed with their reactions and the taste because I brought important someone to introduce my favorite place in this town. I felt like wasted my money and time. I loved this place so long time but I probably won't go there again.

This is such a great small coffee shop. Truly a gem in Ossining! Small space but cozy with a surprising amount of seating (up front and in the back). Perhaps it’s a bit offbeat to the norm (look for all the fun bits of decor!) but I found it charming… Whimsical and artsy. The atmosphere is great and the coffee was wonderful. A great place to meet up with a friend or sit for some work.

We come here every Sunday. The coffee its good but the service horrible. We never had issues with any other employee except only one. He is very rude, seems very annoyed that you are walking, ordering and make him work. Doesn't say hello or goodbye. It's the second time we see him here and we have the same experience. Decided to not come here again.

The coffee is ok, not great. They insist on putting in milk/cream for you, which I never understand.
But the truly galling thing is that they refused to give me change for a dollar to feed the meter (yes, I still feed the meter instead of using an app).
Even as a paying customer they refused to give me four quarters for a dollar. I could understand their refusal if I came in off the street and asked for change, but I have been a regular patron over time, and all I needed this instance was help in getting change to park legally.
Even more infuriating than that, the young store manager on duty was abrupt, arrogant and imperious, as if he owned the place. I asked for contact information for the owners to share my opinion, but the manager was insistent that the owners are well aware of this issue, and they are entirely unreachable.
Perhaps the owners will read their public reviews, and if so, they will learn that I will now take my business to the cafe at Barnes and Noble across the street, where they have great coffee, and give change on request.

Coffee and espresso isn’t good. Interior looks beat up. Serves alcohol, which is nice. Better than no indie coffee shop, but leaves much to be desired.

Very nice little cafe. Friendly personnel and phenomenal espresso. I spoke with the manager Frankie and he said the espresso is from a local business. I’m Italian born and raised and lived in New York City for over 10 years, and can guarantee this is one of the best espresso I’ve had in NYC. Will Be Back!

Very disappointed. When you have a great product, but your employees are lazy and refuse to serve an espresso drink at 6:10 pm because you are closing at 7. (After me and another customer was waiting for 2/3 minutes at the completely e pry store, while the two ladies were chatting in the back. We could have taken few nice bottle of Pinot Grigio.)
No problem! Across the street at the book store there’s a Starbucks.
Wanted to support local business, instead of the big corporations… I wish I could, but the small business prefers to walk down the road of bankruptcy.
Never gonna try again getting a white chocolate mocha from this place , however it’s delicious.

The coffee was awesome, the scone was fresh and delicious crunchy on the outside and muffiny on the inside. The gentleman in the front was nice, pleasant and friendly. The ambiance was perfect, great music and I was able to read the paper too. What more could I ask for. Thank you Hastings!

Bad cappuccino or latte. Do NOT get. It’s just a semi cute spot with good pastries and teas are great. It’s just not good coffee.
