Silverlake Family Restaurant

literally one of the worst meals i have ever ate. i got a waffle with strawberries and the waffle wasn’t even cooked all the way and had liquidy batter on the inside. my boyfriend got eggs with toast, ham, and french fries and the eggs were absolutely disgusting and his ham was so unappealing look wise and taste wise. we are from out of town and wanted to support a local family restaurant but this was unbelievably horrible. neither of us finished our meals.

Visiting the nearby state park from out of town this past Sunday (8/22/2021) and NOT what we consider a "family restaurant".

Server was not attentive, only asked how the meals were when we were clearly done trying to eat the sub-par food.

Almost everything was over cooked, including the pancakes (both adult and kid size) and the pre-packaged ultra thin sliced luncheon meat pastrami. Only exception was the under cooked (?/barely warmed) vegetables in the omelet.

Asked some locals later for dinner options and they agreed - NOT "Silverlake Family Restaurant"!

Good food. Lots on the menu kinda hard to make a decision. Service was a little slow for the time of day but all in all pretty good

We had the 2222 and were not able to eat it all. Very good food. The staff are very nice. This must be where the locals eat. The parking lot was full. Small town cooking and service. Thanks for a nice stop.

Perfectly located on the main road to New Jersey with good parking lot. Food was excellent. Wasn't very crowded but found to be with lots of families sitting around. Decor was great with lots of sunlight filtering through. Has a bar too. Service was good. Over all very clean and neat. Will definitely visit next time on the way to New York.

We went here on 2-14-20. The food was terrible. Two people who ordered the special, which was prime rib, had to wait for ten minutes after everyone else was served at our table. At such time the waitress advised us there was no more baked potatoes. If that was the case why weren't we advised prior to receiving our prime rib. The prime rib was very bland. I love red meat, but no matter how much salt and pepper I added it was horrible.

We were passing through the area and needed a place to stop for dinner. Did some quick research on restaurants in the area and decided to give this one a try. It was just okay. The service was slow. There was nothing special about the food. The restaurant itself felt dirty. I don't think we would re-visit.

If you enjoy eating among flies, then this is the place for you!
I accompanied a colleague of mine to grab some dinner, and he seemed to have enjoyed the experience but I did not. The ventilation system is not very efficient. The restaurant was crowded and it felt very warm, and that was discomforting. This restaurant is a family diner and 85% of their customers are elderly people. Also, as we were waiting to order I could not help but notice that the place is infested with flies.Their menu is quite comprehensive as well as affordable, and their service times are fairly slow.
Their staff is friendly and so are the flies!

The service 4 out of 5 of the last times went went here was less then desirable. When the waitress comes to the table after sitting. This could be anywhere from 15-30 minutes you better order drinks immediately. Otherwise you will be sitting another 15-30 minutes before they cone back. This goes the same when she asks if you are ready to order. You better be or you will be sitting another 15-30 minutes again. Seriously this is what we come to expect from this place. Its sad because the food is really good. The customer service has a lot of work to do.

Beef on weck was super dry. My au jus tasted like it came from a Mccormick packet i can buy at walmart. My husbands spagetti portion was tiny. The Bavarian pretzel was good and fresh but not worth 9 bucks. Prices are way too high for the portions and quailty served. Mostly tastes like out of the can processed food. Waitress was unattentive. Had to ask for more napkins, then ketchup, and a place setting when she was aware there were 3 of us, she didnt bring refills. We didnt see her again until she brought the check.
