Brue Coffee

Great atmosphere friendly staff also has Wi-Fi available. Comfortable for college students that are studying. Close to hotels and Hospital. Unbelievable refreshments and coffee. Has salsa one day on the weekend. Available for parties. Owner is wonderful.

Brue could benefit from more seating, but maybe the aesthetic is valued more here? Great coffee, good food, and locally owned. Good place for college students to sit and study because there are power outlets all along the wall.
Edit: some of the newer staff are untrained on making drinks, but they are very gracious and always want to improve the customer's experience
Edit #2: I have to add that the big red couch is actually the most comfortable sitting experience of my life and I wish I had it in my own home for napping purposes.

I really love the atmosphere here and everyone is really kind. They have PB & J bagels!! Who doesn't need these in there life! You must always come to this coffee house because it's amazing. Dear lord they have PB & J bagels! What could possibly be better. Have a wonderful day and always drink Bru Coffee.

Overall a mediocre coffee shop. It's not particularly clean or nice inside, and some the tables are wobbly which can be annoying if you're trying to do work on them. I can't speak to the bar and night scene, but it's hardly ever crowded and you can usually find a seat. The coffee is so-so, I had a café au lait, and it was weaker than I usually prefer, though it could be a matter of taste. The biggest thing that stops me from going here is the customer service, I've never felt particularly welcome by the staff, who have always seemed to be busy either talking to other staff or fixing issues in the kitchen.

The service isn't that bad. I find it to be a great place work on school assignments while having coffee with something light to eat while I get work done. I just wish that some of the prices were a bit lower, since I go there frequently.

Serving Glen Edith coffee, Brue is my go to for local coffee. Friendly staff and a nice selection of drinks. Small food menu, sandwiches, salads and baked goods. Also, they sell beer and liquor but I hardly see anyone drinking booze. Big with the college crowd and local young professionals, Brue is a great place to stop in to or relax at for a few.

I hate to bash anyone, especially local businesses. But my last trip to Brue was awful! I waited up front for far too long, so much so I almost walked out. I wish I had... I was met by a very unpleasant kid with headphones to begrudingly take my order. I made the mistake of severely over paying for an untoasted bagel with microwaved cheese and sausage and syrup everywhere except on the bagel. This expensive mess unfortunately went straight to the trash... worse part is if I went to ask for a refund, I'd be waiting most of my day waiting for anyone to come up to the counter. Not worth it.

Been there a couple times, as we live around the corner and never once have we gotten good service. The staff always seems to have an attitude, as if you are bothering them. My husband recently went in he get an ice coffee and a couple cuos of water for the dogs. The women working acted like it was a huge expense to give a couple cuos of water for the dogs. My husband had to PAY for the cups and water and when he asked for the drink tray she took one out of the garbage. Needless to say they have lost our business for good. It's too bad, we try to support local business.

Cute coffee shop in the 19th ward is how I'd describe this place. I didnt go there for the coffee nor muffins/bagels but I was pleasantly surprised by its ambiance & menu.
I went for a family event/show called "We are BETTER together".Although it was a night event they still offered its menu which I thought to be pretty cool. I had some frozen strawberry-ish beverage I'm sorry but I cannot recall the name ,well not bcz I cant recall it but bcz my sister went to the counter & ordered it for me based on my saying something fruity or frozen and she kinda mixed the two. It was VERY GOOD. I'd definitely recommend it if I knew its name lol idk maybe u could say creamy strawberry frozen goodness🤣🤷🏽‍♀️..Hey I tried. Anywho if ur in the 19th ward and want a quick cup of coffee & bagel/muffin (or frozen beverage) stop on in theres ample parking in the back.
