2 Alices is one of the best coffee shops in the Hudson Valley, if not the best. Friendly staff, ample seating for working or socializing, great design and ambience, warm when it's cold, and, of course, great coffee, in a wide variety of options. Offering beer, wine, and some tasty food options too, it's hard to do better. Free Wi-Fi. Trivia night Thursdays at 8, and live music from time to time. Look for local artists and photographers to share their work inside.

Adorable coffee shop. My tea was piping hot and my bagel was yummy.

Seems like THE coffee shop of Cornwall. I enjoyed the gluten free baked goods and a really nice breve. Decent WiFi allowed me to video conference in to work. It’s not crazy fancy but it’s authentically Cornwall. What more could you want. The baristas were welcoming.

Cute and quaint! What is better than Mac and Cheese in a mug?

I have visited this coffee shop quite a few times since I discovered it a few months ago. The coffee is usually good, and the employees were never unfriendly - until my most recent visit.
I had some friends in town so myself and my roommate took them to this cute little coffee shop. I had never had a bad experience before so I was really talking it up.

We got there and the coffee shop was moderately busy - more so than they usually were on a Sunday morning, yet not overly crowded. We got up to the counter and ordered separately. Placing our orders with a barista in his late twenties/early thirties who had a beard and a shaved head (let's call him Beardista) I got my usual Hazelnut Latte, my friend got an Almond Milk Latte and a quiche and my roommate inquired about the bagels they had since they weren't listed on the menu board (not a big deal, right?). As my roommate was trying to place her order she was told that they had everything except Everything bagels, which I must admit was clever, but a little confusing for someone who had never ordered a bagel from here before.

Now, my roommate is a picky person, so she was fully expecting they would have an Asiago or Cheddar bagel. Not knowing the selection of bagels they had on hand, she asked what kind of bagels they had specifically. Beardista rattled off a long list, which did not include any kind of cheesy delicious bagels (much to my roommates chagrin). In finding that they didn't have one of the few bagels she liked, my roommate ordered a Plain bagel and a Mocha Latte.

A detail you should know is the kitchen at this place isn't much of a kitchen. In fact, it's a little nook right off of the ordering counter. As we were waiting at the counter for our items we heard Beardista, who took our order, preparing a plain bagel in the kitchen/nook say loudly to another barista "Why would someone order a plain bagel? It's like going to a restaurant, asking what salad dressings there are and then telling them you want a vinaigrette."
The other barista laughed and said "Because they're stupid!"
Beardista then replied "Yeah what an idiot. People are so dumb."

Now, I know employees have these kinds of conversations. I'm not expecting someone working in customer service not to ever say anything bad about a customer. It's the name of the game! People who want to be served are awful sometimes, but the three of us who were visiting this coffee shop would know that because we have all worked in customer service at one time or another and almost always go out of our way to be polite and friendly.

My visiting friend attempted to discreetly speak to Beardista about overhearing him and the other employee speaking so disrespectfully but he just shrugged, said sorry with a sigh (to which a different guy barista made an uh-oh face over Beardista's shoulder) and told her the manager was on break but he could take an email.

Such a disrespectful employee completely ruined my experience here. After that terrible experience I would not recommend coming here for coffee.

2 Alices is a great coffee shop to stop by and hang out. The staff is friendly, the coffee is well made, and the bagels are delicious. They have soy cream cheese which is a hit with my lactose-intolerant friends. Their Thursday Trivia Night is super fun and their local music talent is awesome. If you're in COH stop by 2 Alices!

It's only my secondary time here. I "starred" it on my map to make it a point to stop in here next time I'm in the area. The place is super cozy, and in a great location (not necessarily convenient). The coffee is rich and strong. Their pastry selection is limited. They have vegan pastries which loom taste but I've had my treat for the day. I cannot comment on their fancy coffee beverages as I've never had any. They also sell beer!!! It's the only cafe I can think of that does in NY.
Now down to business...
Strong coffee: (which is how I gauge a Cafe): A++
Location and ambiance: A++
If you're going to give it 2 stars because it's pricy, that's not totally fair.
Small Ice coffee was $3.25. I had about half and was "super charged".
Value: A+
Man I sound like I'm a partner in this place. I'm not :-(

Based on my very limited experience (read tried once because I was passing by and wanted coffee), very good coffee. Ginger latte and dirty chai were really good. And considering the covid situation, they seem to be taking decent precautions.

Mikey and Aurelia are incredibly welcoming and serve lots of yummy foods and drinks. The cleanliness and customer service is the best in town. 🍻

So I'm editing my review which originally said I love the lavender green tea (5 stars) which is still very true. The past couple times I've come in and ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk from a certain short haired female cashier, Ive gotten repeated attitude the last 3 times and my drink order was messed up which is starting to seem intentional. I love all the other employees they all get my order right with a smile on their face, I never make me feel like I'm in the wrong. Today the 1st drink she gave me was an ice latte which wasnt even completely full, it was maybe 3/4 of the way full, which is absurd when you're paying $6 for a large. When I asked where my Matcha latte was, she said very loudly, you ordered an iced latte..( i would never order a latte since i dont like coffee) When she finally gave me the correct drink, it again wasn't completely full and didn't taste right but I was there long enough and didn't want to deal with her attitude any longer. So in conclusion, my complaint is with a staff member, not the establishment itself.
