This. Place. Was. Awesome! Not just the frappes and muffins we had, but the atmosphere was everything! Three older guys were just sitting and playing their instruments together for anyone to listen and were SO GOOD! We will most definitely be back to try the food and sit to enjoy the atmosphere! We even bought some bagged coffee grounds to try at home!

First time here, blown away at how good the food is. Coffee is excellent as well. Bust but got a table. Will be back.

Perfect coffee shop, the barista was right it was the best avocado toast I’ve ever had! We both had the medium roast coffee, excellently roasted.

LOVED this place. Great vibe, good service. We had bacon and egg breakfast sandwiches and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. The coffee was also delicious, we had medium roast and it was smooth and rich. Highly recommend.

Excellent breakfast burrito. Cheesey, savory sausage and grilled to a crispy golden brown. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend calling in orders ahead if you can or are in a rush. A decent amount of seating, piano in the back. Great breakfast sandwiches!

First time stopping here. Little bit expensive but the coffee was delicious. Not to sweet not to bitter. Perfect amount of Carmel. Looks like they have selection of hot food and bakery items as well.

Cappuccino was fine. Waited forever for my sandwich. Wouldn't order food again.

Out of all the places in Canandaigua to visit, the Dalai Java is the coffee bean supreme <3 With their prime location, pet friendly atmosphere, and menu options it’s a must go to place for drinks! The baristas are as sweet as my drink is and they even have gluten free options!! Dalai Java has always been more than a caffeine outlet, memories are made here and you’ll be friends with other regulars for life!

TLDR; The food is fantastic, the coffee okay, and the kitchen closes at 2pm every day, which isn't said on Google. Make sure to highlight need for decaf if ordering it.

My fiancée and I frequented Dalai Java when we lived closer, specifically for their breakfasts. The Breakfast Sandwich is probably my favorite in the area, and their wraps and pastries are high quality and have vegan options as well. I forgot the kitchen closed at 2pm last time I was in the area, so I was disappointed I didn't see it on Google and had my hopes up.

Their coffee and lattes are okay, not my favorite, though I can't say I'm a coffee expert by any means. The flavored latte espresso:syrup ratios are inconsistent, with some I've had being way too sweet and some being just espresso.

The biggest note, and why I knocked a star off, is my fiancée has received caffeinated lattes when ordering decaf on two different occasions. Fortunately for her it only means jitters/shaking and a poor night of sleep if she drinks it too quickly, but it's something that can be more impactful to those that are even more caffeine sensitive. It's also pretty disappointing for my fiancée to not be able to drink her coffee, as we usually get our food/drink to go and she can't tell it's caffeinated for 15mins, when we're already halfway home and don't want to have to turn around.
