Textbook restaurant is relatively new and is appropriately named given it across from Brooklyn hospital, down the block from Brooklyn tech and a couple blocks from LIU. It’s a cafe, diner, bar and restaurant all rolled into one. It has 3 taps, serves coffee/tea beer wine, sandwiches, both indoor and outdoor seating. You need to place your order at the outside window. I ordered the fried fish sandwich which was a fried cod(nice and flaky and not too much batter) with coleslaw, tartar sauce on some artisan bread. There wasn’t a big crowd when I went so sandwich was ready and wrapped in under 10 minutes. Absolutely delicious!!! I’ll be back to try everything else. Service was polite and prompt.

Everything I’ve tried here has been absolute PERFECTION. The vegan breakfast sandwich was delicious - so fresh and made to order with scrambled mung bean, vegan cheddar, fake bacon and tomatoes. My absolutely favorite is the lunch. I came in two days in a row just to get the truffle tuna sandwich. It’s like nothing I’ve ever had before. So tasty, fresh and the flavors do so well together. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich and he was saying it’s the best he’s ever had. Love the guys running things. Super friendly and lifelong New Yorkers building a lovely spot in the community. My new favorite place.

Had such a great dinner here. I ordered the fried fish sandwich (it was to die for!, very juicy and flavorful; came with delicious spicy fries) and a glass of rose (on tap), which paired very well.
There were many other things on the menu that I look forward to trying, including an extensive wine list.
Their outdoor seating is wonderful, I came with a laptop and I felt super comfortable working while eating.

I’ve been to Textbook countless times, and I can’t stress enough how much I, as well as my dog, love it. The drinks and food are incredible, the staff is super friendly, and the location (right outside Ft Greene Park) is perfect.

The best breakfast sandwiches. Refreshing matcha lemonade, and the butterfly pea flower was so pretty. Staff is incredibly friendly. Love everything about this place. Welcome to the neighborhood!!

This place is my new favorite spot to go when I am walking my dog around Forte Greene! The staff is super friendly and the owners are so down to earth and funny. They always have a pup cup ready for my dog, and are very knowledgeable about coffee without being pretentious. As a vegan, I am so excited that their menu includes foods I can eat. So far, my favorite is the vegan breakfast sandy. I also am obsessed with the espresso lemonade, the most refreshing drink. Wifi is awesome and the vibe is very relaxed if you want to work while there. I am impressed by the diversity of their staff, and they have on draft Back Home Beer, for those of you who want to support local businesses that are women and minority owned. As someone who used to live in this neighborhood, I have to say this is a welcome addition, and it already has a community vibe to it. If I could hold my office hours here, I would ;).

surprisingly amazing food. my favorite is the steak sandwich though everything is great. ask for hot sauce on the side too. the fries are also of particular note — seasoning is great. will continue to come back for more!

Amazing breakfast sandwiches! Tried the merguez and the ciabatta was so pillowy and the filling was so buttery and well-spiced. The portion is also quite big for the price! The owner and staff are so sweet and offered our dogs treats. They are a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

I initially came here to support a new small business in the neighborhood. I continue to come here because the food and drinks are GREAT. They have so many vegan options and I am obsessed w the breakfast sandwich. It’s made fresh to order, not a frozen Just Egg patty heated up. My carnivore BF loves the pork belly sandwich. It nice that we can have somewhere to go where we can both eat something. I have spoken with the owners many times and they are two very cool guys. Legit down to earth and genuinely nice. Literally the best addition to the neighborhood.

Grabbed breakfast here after a doc appointment. Had the egg sandwich and a chai latte. It was hot and delicious.
