THIS PLACE IS SO COOL! Way bigger selection of books than I expected. All the employees are so helpful & nice I loved it here.

The place honestly is very nice and has a good vibe to it but the staff weren't the most welcoming. The staff were giving attitude and were giving glares at us while we were walking by. I'm not 100% sure if it was on purpose but they gave us a to go cup while everyone else got a regular non disposable cup. It felt like they were basically telling us to buy our stuff and leave. Honestly wouldn't recommend.

My 6 year old daughter left her beloved Parrot stuffed animal sitting in a chair in Collected Works while we were on a road trip. We live in Knoxville, TN. We left the next day and thought Parrot had simply been packed away in our car.

To our distress, we arrived to our next stop in Oklahoma City and slowly came to the realization that he had been left behind.

I frantically called Collected Works right as they opened and, as you might expect from a non-chain, local bookstore, got a lovely person on the phone. I don’t even remember the name, but after explaining the situation the man on the phone quizzed me on the colors of the Parrot and once we’d confirmed it was ours, calmly said, “I’ve got you! We will ship him to you today, just pay shipping and we’re good!” He sounded genuinely happy to reunite a little girl with her precious friend.

I would have paid much more than the $10 or so in shipping. They could’ve taken advantage of me, desperate to reunite my 6 year old with her beloved friend… but of course they didn’t!

About a week later we arrived home to a box our neighbors had grabbed from our front porch for us.

It was Parrot. He was carefully wrapped in tissue paper with a ribbon bow around his neck. A handwritten note said, “Thanks for letting us bird-sit!”

I am very, very glad my wife stopped her with the kids to support a local store. Would a big chain have found a child’s incredibly important stuffed animal, kept it, waited for the call, and shipped it with a handwritten note? I doubt it.

Support local! Thank you Collected Works!

Great coffee and super chill vibe. Cozy interiors to either sit with your favorite book or indulge yourself at the puzzle table. Loved it here.

Lovely bookstore! I really enjoyed browsing their shop when it was open (closed for Covid but you can call and order over the phone still; they’ll bring things out for you to look at).

When they are open again, their coffee shop is worth a stop too. Cute place to sit and relax for a moment.

Super nice comfortable vibe at this coffee house / bookstore. Some events request you wear a mask, but they will provide one for free. Otherwise, very comfy, laid back place.

Great drinks and books. Good place to stop and put your feet up, even if they’re “local” feet!
