man no idea why this place only has a 4.3 rating... literally the best bar in town. Great drinks, great energy, great food, fun games, they often have really good music too. every time i come here i have some sort of spiritual experience with other women in the bathroom. 10/10.

I’m giving this place a one star because I brought a friend from out of town to share a “great place for tacos and drinks”. Unfortunately we were greeted by Stephanie who was extremely rude to us. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a place where I’m willing to spend hard-earned money. As a service worker, this place took a huge loss. I would never treat a customer the way Stephanie treated us. Server karma is real.

Sister gets some good shows to come through but as a venue it's not the best. It's really small and everyone is crammed onto a kind of separate floor in front of the stage. The patio is nice and they also allow reentry which is rare these days. It's not the best but I've definitely been worse places.

Update: no more hits. Just misses.
Hit or miss with service. The venue aspect is cool. Mediocre drinks, having to explain simple well known cocktails to the bartenders gets old. Some of the bartenders are great, some very rude.

Fantastic cocktails, tasty tacos, total tab was easy on the wallet. Great vibe! Low key, dancing, live dj, several arcade games.

Sustenance was great! Most folks were dressed up for '80s night and it was a lot of fun. I and 3 friends came down from Denver for a wedding and this place was a great surprise find.

I dig it. Supports local Indigenous artists too! Decent bar food. Nice selection of beers. Decent size floor for shows. Arcade games too!

We had one night in Albuquerque, randomly ended up in this place - and it was excellent. Good beer, good food, arcade games around, good atmosphere.

I liked it before when it was called Brother, but I get that it was just too masculine for the vibe of downtown ABQ in 2022. Plus, we're all feminists in this town - don't you forget it.
I saw Tennis here, I saw of Montreal here, I saw Xiu Xiu here, I saw Shoulder Voices here, and I saw The Gothic Ball Event here (twice!) And above all else, what I am most excited about seeing here and seeing it in a dozen or more occasions, I saw those freakin' special amazing french fries that are covered in all kinds of savory nonsense and salty creams and onions and I don't even know what else they put on them, but the French fries are unbelievable.
Amazing venue to see shows and eat all kinds of awesome tacos. Though I must say that if your intention was to come to Sister Bar and stay sober, stay on the wagon, keep your sobriety, dry out, 12 stepping, not drinking is what I'm getting at here folks! If your plan was to come to Sister Bar and not drink alcohol - then might I suggest you think about going somewhere else or just forget the sobriety stuff. One or the other, but trying to do something in-between is not likely going to happen. That being said, I have indeed been to Sister Bar more than three dozen times in my life and NEVER once have I even been tempted to drink alcohol or do cocaine in the bathroom with the guy selling merch. Not once, so I know it is possible, but let's be honest with one another, I'm a very extraordinary person and there are so few ppl of my caliber in this state. I'm a New Mexico 10 to be honest, which I know is like a California 4, but we ain't in California anymore, Dorothy. As they say. Good luck, you drunk self-loathing monster.

Great bar for a good drink and a nice atmosphere.
