Best bagels around. It wasn't very clean when I was in there. Service was good after I asked them to please cut my bagels as I had no knife to do that

Bagels were a day old at 7am opening.Baked goods in display case were also not fresh. Service was “rough” for a morning bagel place. Went a few months back and out of bagels at 8am. It’s a shame as this place was a definite “go-to” for fresh bagels in the area for many years.
Reply to Owner’s response below: Bagels were 100% day old. The bagels were rock hard and difficult to cut even with very sharp serrated knife. Yes you were out of bagels at 8am on “off-season” day and having to wait for 25 mins for any type of bagel is mismanagement.Sorry but service has been deplorable as of late. Hopefully your new location will bring better service and product. Rio Grande location!

I use to work for this company many years ago when it was the original owners and everything always worked smoothly. Now it is not good at all. The credit card machine went down so it was cash only. I got a breakfast sandwich and after bringing it home it was not what I ordered. I got a specialty coffee and they had to keep going into the back to restock. Staff seemed new so they were trying to figure out a flow but it was just chaos. This use to be a great place to get breakfast but now it’s a place to avoid.

Awful experience! Placed my order and waited 30 min for a bagel with cream cheese. People that came in before me and ordered sandwiches from the grill and had large orders were in and out. When I asked, along with another customer what was happening with our orders the young girl with tattoos on her neck, behind the counter gave me such an attitude. She was slamming the bagels down and rolling her eyes. She had the nerve to tell me that I got a toasted bagel with veggie cream cheese (as if that’s a difficult or complicated order) If you don’t want to make bagels or work for that matter, then don’t! The other woman employee also wasn’t friendly and acted bothered, but at least she completed by order.
She should be fired immediately. I will never be back and it’s a shame, since I regularly dined there. Where is the customer service?? Not even an apology!
Oh, and I’ll add the bagel was barely toasted and the cream cheese tasted sour.

The bagels and coffee here were delicious! We also had a piece of coffee cake that was to die for ! I highly recommend Avalon! You won’t be disappointed. Also , all the people working there were very pleasant and always smiling. We felt very welcomed and appreciated by choosing them for our breakfast!

One of our favorites for bagels and had always been amazing, but our most recent batch seemed a bit stale, off, or not as fresh today. Not sure if these were made the night before maybe or if the recipe changed somehow??? Surprised on the downside this time, but possibly just a one time thing - hopefully back to the prior way they were.

Got a Sean dog, it tasted okay but there were flies walking on all the muffins and baked goods. Ordered it as a pickup, told them multiple times my name and that I was waiting. Fifteen minutes after it was ready they told me with an attitude that it was ready and they didn't know I was waiting. I was almost the only person in the store with four employees. I was on the phone for a meeting but I was responding to the employees courteously.
