My go to coffee shop here in The Heights. Modcup really takes their coffee seriously and knows how to brew/make some of the best beverages around. Special shout-out to barista Chris who is friendly and fun - he brightens my day!
I ordered a 20oz chai iced tea with macadamia mylk and coconut sweetener and it paired perfectly with their delicious almond croissant (ask if it can be warmed). Price wise, it’s about 2x what I might spend at Dunkin Donuts for a similar order but trust me, your tastebuds and metabolism will thank you!
The decor and ambiance remind me of a fusion between modern & boho chic with an urban twist. This def sets the vibes. Plus, the menu is laid out so cleanly and creatively (eg there’s a category for ‘mylk’ or nondairy alternatives). It was good to know that modcup is not exclusively a coffee shop and there are tea and pastry options. And I have to mention, although I didn’t catch their name, my barista had this funky, quirky energy that was awesome.
I do wish they’d add some honey to their menu but overall, 🔥🔥🔥 coffee shop in Jersey City Heights.
Great little joint more suitable for pick up. Their chai is home brewed and delicious. I had it without sugar and it was perfect. It can’t get any more cool than this little place. I can see why they have so many awesome reviews. Finding little joints like this is what going out is all about for me!
This is a hip locally-owned neighborhood coffee joint located right across the street from Riverview-Fisk Park. They source green coffee beans from around the world and roast them locally adhering to their own roasting philosophy. The result is a unique and flavorful experience that many locals get to enjoy repeatedly. Modcup’s downtown location also features a cool-looking vintage Citroën H van circa 1970s. I hope to see it one day selling coffee around the park, maybe when the park and the farmers market open back up later this year?
Very friendly staff and great coffee. The price is at the high end (around 20 per 340g of coffee beans) but worth coming. It's a tiny but very nice coffee shop

The coffee was delicious and they have an amazing team. Sipping a hot cup of coffee on a cold morning couldn't get any better.

Super cute space and really enjoyed my turmeric latte! The lavendar donut was also really good and dense like cake, not fried!

Great coffee, funky vibes, can take it to go and enjoy the NYC skyline at the park across the street.
