Roast'd Coffee - Hasbrouck Heights

This has been one of my favorite coffee shops since it opened but this morning my experience was not good. I like to frequent local small shops in lieu of chain coffee shops but I do not think I will be returning to Roast'd. The coconut cold brew at $4.75 for the small should taste like coconut infused coffee, this morning it tasted like milky water. I could not drink it. I returned to the store and asked for a single shot of espresso and they charged me for a double. When I questioned it, I was told they cannot brew a single! Really? It is on the menu. If I had returned to Starbucks complaining of a drink they made, they would do what it takes to make it right. Instead this coffee cost me a total of $7.95 and did not taste like coconut. They also would NOT take cash and I will not support stores that will not accept cash!

I just learned about this establishment after starting to get serious about making espresso at home. I was surprised to find that a fresh coffee roaster was so close and convenient to where I work.

I walked in and was blown away by this place. A true, small café that cares. Pat helped me pick out some beans that fit my flavor preferences and suggested some brew ratios to try the coffee with (I later found out he is the owner!). Was very helpful, and best of all; KIND!

Not only did he help me immensely with my choices of coffee beans, but he told me that if I ever wanted to talk coffee to stop by. You would NEVER get a response like that from Starbucks.

Overall, skip Starbucks and try this place. You'll be happy you did!

Nice little place, nice big menu. I tried their cold brew and nitrogenated cold brew (comes out of the tap like a beer, with a big frothy head), and both tasted really good. I'd try them again someday, maybe after work, but I'd have to catch them before they close at 4pm. Highly recommend for people who are looking for coffee that's better than "good enough."

The smell upon entering is coffee heaven! Their coffee is a bit overwhelming at first, names with no description, but the helpful staff walked us through. One thing, don't pass this place without stopping in for a fresh croissant. They are huge, flakey and tasty. Well worth the stop!

This was my first time here and I don't know that I would go back. The coffee was good, it was better than good. It was a 7/10 cup. I had a pour-over and I think the barrista made a really good cup of coffee. I just think the only difference would have been higher quality beans.

Whenever I visit a new coffee shop I will also ask for a cortado to be pulled as that'll really test the quality of the machine the beans the barrista etc. Unfortunately the cortado really fell short it just had too much acid plain and simple. Instead of a creamy smooth and flavorful shot i had mostly acid with hints of flavor notes. It's either going to expose a gap in the machine or the barista or the blend. The Cortado was a 6/10.

Best Cappuccino & Cofffee spot I've ever been. I live the staff. Highly Recommended!!!!!

UPDATE! This place is as consistant as it gets. Still top quality w/ an excellent staff! If you haven't already, give it a try. You'll be hooked!!

The owner is SO nice. They are very knowledgeable and passionate. I ordered the coconut cold brew. It was great. I’ll be back to try some other things. Only suggestion is they sell reusable straws like at Rook.

Delicious fresh coffee roasted on site and prepared one cup a time. Super friendly staff...and knowledgeable too. I've been a happy customer since their grand opening. If you are driving by why not stop in for a hot coffee or a cold brew...you'll be glad you did!

Koffeewagon is a fantastic coffee shop conspicuously placed between chain stores this place has great coffee that they roast on house. Prices are very reasonable and the owners clearly care about coffee.. Also try the coconut cold brew. Its pretty incredible.
