The Local Grocer

Despite having signs about wearing a mask to enter and appropriate social distancing, I was shocked to see the person serving food at the cafe counter was not wearing a mask! She was wearing a face shield, which is not appropriate protection for others by itself. I love this place and was disappointed by this lack of a mask. I did not order any food here due to concerns for COVID safety.

The Local Grocer is my favorite store and cafe in the mount Washington valley. The variety of local produce all winter long, organic and gmo-free products, friendly staff as well as delicious meals and goodies from the cafe keep me coming back! The staff is friendly, knowledgable and approachable. They offer bulk herbs, spices, teas and grains. Organic and local beer and wine. I feel like they really practice what they preach because they care. I rarely go to any of the big stores because I can get what I need at the TLG and I am supporting local people within the community not a giant corporation. I vote with my dollars. The building and gardens are beautiful too!

Very pricey but the selection is amazing. I love the bulk section, it's perfect for those living zero waste since they do tare. If you're vegan there's a lot of options both in the cafe and the store.

Great top quality (albeit limited) selection! I stumbled on this while driving to another store. I was so excited the minute I walked in. It offers hard to find (excellent) natural products at competitive prices. The cafe has delicious coffee as well. I like that they offer a lot of locally sourced products.

I ate at the cafe and it was delicious!! The people were gracious and pleasant and the energy was perfect. There is a huge variety of items within the store. A must see for anyone in the area 😊

Not impressed with the restaurant side. Service was lacking. We had breakfast and the waitress forgot my coffee. After waiting for about 10 minutes after we ordered I walk in the store and got my own coffee. Then I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese but the eggs were served with no cheese. Just not that friendly and over priced.

Me and my wife have come here every year for 3 years, and that has now changed. Good food, but cafe staff so rude I should have dumped it on the dudes head. Made my wife cry on the anniversary of our marriage. We will never come back. So infuriating I could not detest this place more now if I tried. If you are a well mannered human being and respect others, this is not a place you will enjoy visiting.

The vibe of this place is great! They have tons of vegan options, and a lot of things are local! I really liked their selection and the workers are super nice. They let me use their WiFi upstairs to work on my laptop!

Truly a wonderful place! I'm a local and we "my family and I" eat there all the time. I will say though last time we went for lunch I got a curry soup and it was really watered down hope they aren't starting to cut corners because of there success! Would have givin them five stars if I was happy with my meal last time

Very good breakfast and friendly staff. Nice shop with lots of organic foods and cosmetics.
