It’s a wonderful change to get good food at a National Park. We ate there several times. We tried the salads, and grilled cheese. The ice cream was really high quality and the toppings were excellent. The food was a little pricey but the ice cream was very reasonable.

This place has rooted in my memories. It says something when I write review months after my visited. We stayed in May on the gorgeous Upper Lehman campground nearby. The nights were quite cold and even frosty, as we slept in a simple tent. The Great Basin Cafe offered a cosy place to warm up with a over-delicious hot chocolate (doubtlessly the best I ever had in my life) and mouthwatering meals for an affordable price. The staff was super kind and were being themselves. We've visited 8 national parks in the west and so also around 8 park cafes, but this place stands out for us, by far. Not forget to mention the beautiful view on the Great Basin desert.

DO NOT go here if you have a bigger group, or at least DO NOT let them group your ticket, unless, of course, you want to wait over an hour for your food.
Absolutely absurd amount of time to process food orders especially when others were coming and going before they decided to start preparing our food.
Food was decent, not great. Seasoned fries were not good. Order the regulate fries instead. Service was unapologetic.
The ice cream looked good, but I wasn’t about to get back in the line to order anything else after the long wait for food.
Find somewhere else.

Food was good enough, service was meh, milkshakes were great! Love that it's a good little spot to fill up before a tour of the cave. Beer, coffee, food, and some souvenirs.

Delicious breakfast with a spectacular view and courteous staff. This is top notch food, and the fact that it’s inside a national park is just even more impressive. Thanks for taking care of us!

What a lovely place... Let’s be clear this is inside of the visitors center, weird right? It’s pretty intimate for a national park food establishment. I can’t be certain but I felt the staff were very close, family perhaps and it was their restaurant. They were personable and professional, the food was indulgent and delicious and great for post hike or pre hike calories to get you up or over the hill. Seriously delicious! Thanks ladies!

Today, we had soup and salad. Fantastic soup. We met Charles, who made the roasted vegetable and hamburger soup...sooo good! Great guy too! Dawn was our server, and she was lovely!

The coffee was disgusting and instead of the bagel I ordered, I was given a danish.
Don't forget that there are 2 shops, and you have to walk back outside the building to go between them.
Overall, the services and people working at this park are awful and it's definitely worth skipping.

We had a great experience at this wonderful cafe with an amazing view and terrific food! The staff was friendly and the owner took time to have a nice conversation with us. The hotdogs we ordered were very well done - great all-beef franks topped with delicious dill slaw and a heaping helping of delectable smoked pork - knife and fork necessary! The house-made ribbon fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. We had a 5-star lunch while looking out over the breath-taking Great Basin! We will be back! Take time to get a pic with the beautiful bristle cone pine standing between the upper and lower parking lots. For a quaint and delicious cafe meal, try this place out and you won’t be disappointed. If you like this review, let me know with a thumbs up :)
