The Coffee House

This is the first time I've ever been to that coffee shop and I must have got one of the owners who made my latte because he was very helpful and super friendly. I would recommend to this coffee shop because a lot of times the Baristas are snooty. That was definitely not the case here.

Iced coffee was great same with the pastries. Found the sausage egg and gouda too salty and cappuccino.

Do not leave if it's busy, it is worth it. The service here is better than most. The bill was reasonable I would say. Feels similar to a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed visiting.

Terrible experience. I asked for a nitro cold brew. I noticed he didn’t use ice so I asked for some. He said that nitros don’t come with ice, which isn’t true and it doesn’t matter it’s what I asked for. He proceeded to dump half of the coffee and put ice in the cup. So I just paid for full price for half of what I ordered. Ridiculous! Never experienced this at any coffee shop in the many cities I visited.

Great local coffee shop. Tons of coffee options, both in terms of drip varieties and also specialty drinks. Most people use this to work/study, but it is also a good place to chat.

Apparently this is a favorite hang out for UNL students to study and drink coffee. A co-worker alumni said he spend quite a bit of time here his self. I can see why! Cool place. When my fiend heard my kid was going to UNL he picked up a gift card from here :)

Always the best coffee in town...atmosphere is warm and inviting..Ask Hope the kitchen manager about any bakery needs. Delicious!

Went here for the first time tonight and I have to say, the coffee was good, but the customer service was what left a bad taste in my mouth.

First of all, the hours on Google are apparently not correct because the Coffee House closes at 9pm on a FRIDAY, not 11pm as it states on Google. What coffeeshop closes at 9pm on a weekend? Apparently the Coffee House.

Second, the way that the baristas notify the guests that it is time to close is by yelling loudly into an speaker and then blasting music. There was no warning of "five minutes until we close" or anything. Just incoherent yelling, blasting music, and then someone started mopping while people were looking around at each other deciding what to do. I heard a few people they thought they were on "Candid Camera" or "Punk'd" with how rude and sudden it was.

Third, the music they decided to blast was COMPLETELY inappropriate, even in a college atmosphere. The first song they blasted was "I'm a boss a** b*tch." That might be okay for the bars downtown, but not for a coffeeshop where people study.

Overall, I will probably not return, especially since there are an abundance of great local coffeeshops available in the downtown area.

Great coffee! Better than the alternatives by a long way. Good food too. The atmosphere is nice, not pretentious.
