My food was good. The place is adorable, you go back in time a little when you walk in.

The service, on the other hand, could use more training. I understand having a bad day & feeling crabby, but when you're at work you've gotta remind yourself that without customers, you wouldn't have a job. I've never experienced service with such a sour attitude.

Not sure if they were to busy trying to close, arrived at 2:05pm and they closed at 3pm. Maybe they really don't like folks traveling thru town and cater mostly to the locals. Maybe they didn't like a middle guy with tattoos, or they're simply lazy and don't care if they ignore you for 20mins so you'll get up and leave! Every person in that restaurant, including the cooks in the back saw me come in and sit down. 10min later a young girl finally walks over and stands in front of me, just stands. I asked if I could put in a takeout order? She shook her head yes, I then said I would need a menu for that. She went and retrieved one, set it down in front of me and walked away. Sat there for another 10min with everyone in the restaurant staring at, not what the problem was. Got up and walked out. I travel extensively all over the midwest and I have never felt so uncomfortable in an eating establishment in my life! I have no idea what I did to offend but not only the folks here but this whole town can go fly a kite, bunch of non welcoming jerks!!!!!

Great family restaurant with great quality food

Staff was great, food was good. It took us a bit to get our order taken due to short staffing but the food came out pretty quick once our order was put in.

A classic and charming little dinner. I got the Monte Cristo on special. It was cooked perfectly and had thick cuts of meat, which I appreciated.

I have actually stopped coming in here. The time before this last visit. They took forever getting our food to us and they burned all my food, which was the special. And the hamburger my friend got was under cooked. This time the food wasn't that good the waitress we had was rude, didn't tell us the special, spoke loud and talked about her job being stupid. Heard her tell another table she was to lazy to total their bill. She only paid attention to one table that came in after we sat. That was because she knew them personally and just sat with them and had another waitress deliver our drinks and food. Guess I will wait another 2-3 yrs before I go back again.

I loved the Haystack burger and fries my wife, daughter and granddaughter enjoyed the Tumbleweed burger with fries and a side order of cottage cheese with peaches. My son in law had scrambled eggs with hash browns and my grandson had a kids burger with fries. Tumbleweed Cafe is always a good choice when you are hungry in Broken Bow.

Absolutely horrible restaurant. I walked in with my family and we all stood there for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to tell us where to sit. There are no signs to tell you whether to just sit or wait. The lady at the front desk looked up at us a few times but never said something until finally she said “you can sit”. So we walked around looking for a table and there were a few empty tables that were not cleaned off yet. So we sat down to get out of the way at one of the dirty tables and proceeded to clean the table ourselves. We waited another 5-10 minutes and no one stopped to help, just passed us while we cleaned our own table. Eventually a hostess comes and cleans off the table next to us. The hostess then looks at us waiting patiently and walks away from us again to go talk to the woman at the front desk. It became very obvious that we were being openly ignored and were not going to be served. So we politely got up from the table we had cleaned and left.

Don’t come here if you’re from out of state.

We went to Runzas across the street after this. They welcomed us. They were super nice. They checked up on us. Even if I just ordered and they gave me my food, That service would have been 100000X better than the service at tumbleweed.

We stopped and ate here on a whim. It was a wonderful Buffet. It was really nice to see several Generations helping hand working. I would recommend this to anyone.
