Upshot Coffee Brake Shop

So, up front I will say that I have been to the st Charles location a handful of times and never liked my coffee.
Our group decided to give them another shot at this location.
They definitely raised the bar!
I tried the brown sugar vanilla latte with almond milk and it was very good!
My buddy got a shot of espresso and he said it's gotten better too!
This is a cool brake shop vibe. The servers were patient with our group and sweet.

I came here to try a new coffee place. Upshot is very vegan friendly and it’s a local business. Those are two things I look for in a business. I got the charcoal latte solely because of the name. It sounded so interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was so kind and friendly to me. They were very understanding that it was my first time at the establishment.

College students: this is a great place to study! Outlets are everywhere and if the weather is great, you can get homework done in the sun (or in the shade). I love this quaint place.

Live down the road and have been wanting to try this place.
The interior is simple, I like the subtle nod to its former purpose (auto shop?)
Seems like it may be a nice space to hangout, like most coffee shops…

Only giving them 3 stars for the following reasons:

Parking? What parking.

The barista was lacking… friendliness?

Holy inflation ($8 for a matcha latte with 20% tip)

With all that being said, I most likely will be back. I’d rather support local than Starbucks. Just maybe, don’t treat your customers like they’re a burden ;-)

Great staff and many options for vegetarian/ vegan AND gluten free
It's extremely hard to find anything worthwhile that's gluten free.
The coffee is fresh and made on the spot.
Atmosphere was great, very relaxing

Fast and friendly service. Great vibes here and excellent coffee with many flavors. I had the Schmocha. Don’t recommend the chocolate chip cookies though. Could have been used as weapons how hard they were. Coffee has had me come back multiple times tho! 👍🏽

First timer! Dined in I had a Mistletoe Matcha Latte with oat milk ( hot) and a cinnamon roll which was so good! and my friend had a stuffed Croissant with chocolate

Excellent service. Super polite and prompt. Food was great - the burrito tasted great. Arrived nice and hot. Coffee was hot, and tasty - a lot of different options, but I felt just right at home ordering a regular ole black coffee. And it was good too.

Stopped in quick on a Saturday morning before heading home from a trip. Loved the vibe and the coffee. Open floor plan with big garage doors that in light and probably open up in the summer months. Loved the old mechanic shop aesthetic.

Finally a real coffee shop in St. Charles that rivals it's peers across the river (Sump Coffee, Blueprint). The location is great, the atmosphere is well done, the espresso is great on their shiny Slayer, food is top notch as well. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be back regularly.
