Maplewood Deli & Coffeehouse

My dad and I go here maybe once a month for lunch as a treat, since the food is a little expensive but always excellent. The MapleGood Tuna is my favorite sandwich and the Goo Balls and scones are great. Very pleasant atmosphere to have a lavender cappuccino and people watch.

Kitschy decor, not a lot of space, but they're expanding. Went on a really rainy day, so I couldn't make use of the patio. The coffee tastes good. The honey cardamom latte covered up the taste of the espresso, which was disappointing, but the flavor combination of honey and cardamom is very nice. When ordering a shot in the dark, the menu says it comes with two shots. They put the shots in the cup and then you, the customer, add the brewed coffee. The espresso tasted great, but in my cup was only one shot, and it was not a full ounce. Serving it like this makes a high probability that the shot will "die" before the customer adds brewed coffee. I suppose no one has complained, so it works for them as a process. I also found the brewed coffee to be a bit weak and couldn't really taste the real flavor of the roast. I'd go again, if I were in the area, but I don't think I'd go out of my way.

Staff and clients are super friendly. A random lady helped my some configure the wifi while I was ordering. Baked goods seem to lean a bit too far on the sweet side, but are still good. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating - not at all cramped.

This place is great- super sweet staff and delicious drinks. The coffee shop IS open- Google has messed up their info.

Went in just to kill some time and really enjoyed it! The coffee was reasonably priced and the baristas were friendly and talented. The place is deceptively large looking from the outside, but we found a nice place to enjoy conversation for 45 minutes or so, didn't feel rushed (or a cold breeze from the door!). Will be back, for sure!

Excellent coffee and on a nice street in Maplewood. Great for studying. Also, if you are vegan or vegetarian, this place serves some dishes for you! I suggest the sweet potato burrito and an iced dirty chai tea latte. You will not be upset with my recommendation.

I love Foundation Grounds. It a great coffee shop in the heart of Maplewood. Not only do they have delicious coffee, but wonderful treats, and food to accompany your drink of choice as well. If you are in the area, I highly recommend! The staff is beyond kind and helpful as well. I have a great experience everytime I visit!

Love this place! Great coffee, great vegan options. So glad to have this place.
Edit; this place has changed a lot I’m assuming because of the pandemic. They cut most of their vegan options. Very sad because I used to come here all the time and probably won’t be visiting again anytime soon.

I ordered an iced honey lavender latte and it was amazing! I also got a vegan cinnamon coffee cake which was delicious. I want to brag on their employees because I was just sitting outside at their seating and drinking my latte when a man walks bye and started talking to me and hitting on me. I kept saying no thank you and politely declining. He finally got the message and left. There was other customers at other tables so I felt safe but I turned around and an employee was standing by the trash can and asked me if that guy was bothering me and he asked if I was okay. He definitely got an A+ from me for not only making delicious coffee but also watching out for young women just trying to enjoy their drink outside on a beautiful day. I’ll definitely be back.
