I really love the Tomlinson. This is one of the earliest opening and latest closing coffee shops in KC and a great place to study. The baristas are kind and energetic and the coffee is excellent.
Top of my list!

Tomlinson Cafe is the place to be. An excellent atmosphere for both studying and catching up with friends. If you're like me and don't enjoy coffee they have tea, bottled drinks, pastries, and even ice cream.

The Tomlinson Cafe is arguably the best coffee shop in the Northland.
- Top quality Messenger coffee,
- Knowledgeable and friendly baristas, and
- plentiful seating is bookstore/student center for studying and hangs!

As both an alumni who loved the namesake professor and a local native crying out in the northlands coffee wilderness, I deeply want to love the Tomlinson café.
The quality of coffee and offerings are stellar - worthy of the name honoring the former New Testament and Greek professor! However, the amount of times I’ve showed up to get coffee (after checking to see if they were open on Google) only to find the doors locked and the shop closed is unacceptable for a business.
It’s getting to a point where I’m not sure that I can recommend it solely because I don’t know if it will be open when it says it will be. The staff are friendly and the coffee is great but please update your hours so that people like me don’t drive all the way out here only to be met with disappointment and a locked door. You’ve got so much going for you, please just update your hours if they change, in this case, for the summer.

Solid shop with high quality coffee and pastries. Haven’t been able to find a good coffee shop in the Northland since moving here, but TC definitely has provided that. Great people working there, and solid coffee/food/ice cream!

A small shop with big names! Messenger, KC Baking Co, and Betty Rae’s = quality drinks and treats. Their staff is friendly and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There’s a bookstore next door too!

I really want to love this place, especially because of its convenient location and seemingly knowledgeable baristas. However my biggest frustration with them is they do not cater their services to the public. They are located on a college campus and do not follow the hours listed on their Google profile. I have attempted to buy a drink from them three times over the past 6 months, all during their listed “open” hours and twice they have been closed. One of those times I was trying to meet up with a friend and she arrived before me and found it closed. The other time I was about to make a purchase and they kicked me out because they were about to close, randomly, in the middle of the day. This was very inconvenient and odd. If you are going to hold odd hours that cater to the schedule of your college campus, it’s best to not promote yourself to the public.

I love the coffee and people at Tomlinson Cafe! They've done a great job providing excellent service and creating a comfortable space to gather with others.

Coffee shop not open in the morning. Must be for students only, but all doors are locked for public.

Good coffee, great baristas. Both worth spending time with. 10/10 would recommend.
