The Country Cafe

Friendly staff. The service was prompt and courteous. Ordered a bucket of chicken to go. Hotn fresh and delish! Mashed potatoes and cole slaw were very tasty indeed! The brown gravy?! YUM! The rolls were great. They came with butter pats and little tubs of Apple butter. I have the sneaky suspicion that everything was homemade because it tasted so good. I am glad I finally tried this little gem of a cafe in Festus!

My son and I just love this place. Great food and such a friendly staff.

Don’t order biscuits and gravy with eggs
If you want the nasty white gravy it’s at a cheap motel for free and save-a-lots has the sausage patties. Oh don’t forget a thin slice of powdered eggs all mixed in together. The hash browns well you can’t mess that up. All this can be your for $12
What a nasty breakfast. Oh and if you say something the waitress who told you everything is fresh. She says she will tell Grandmaw to use lard next time. Grandmaw is some big black guy in the kitchen.

We travel to Festus from Indiana all the time and every time we pass we say next time we'll stop in for breakfast. It's always packed and with 2 young childeren it's hard to go somewhere so busy. Well after about 2 years of next times we finally stopped in and I wish really we stopped in sooner. It's definitely worth the wait (about 10 minutes for a table). The food, service, atmosphere and prices are amazing. It's cute and cozy and we definitely will be back next time we are in town.

One star for the pie and cheesecake and coffee. Cheesecake was like eating an actual hunk of cheese..the grandfather crust taste burnt...and like it was cooked in a dirty aluminum pan...the chocolate pie that my friend had LOOKED PATHETIC the topping was all melted..there was barely any chocolate in it and the crust taste freezer burnt...the coffee...i could smell it had sat there all day but she served it to us anyway.

One of my all time favorites. Just good old fashioned home cooking. Great staff. Reasonably priced comfort food. Yuuuum

This place has really gone down hill. Couldn’t even cook eggs. The pancakes tasted like a dirty dish rag. Does no good to complain. The waitress had us doing most of her job. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought she was tweaking. Won’t be going back anymore.

Very good breakfast and fast friendly service and atmosphere. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
