When they were J&B, service was great, selection was great, always stocked shelves;
Now things run out and they don't restock, they Put things on sale and never restock, just
Leave it half or all empty to try and get rid of The Less popular of the product. Workers are still Great, it is just What seems to be inability to restock the shelves. There are so many times I am in there looking for something and it is sold out. I swear every time I go in there i get frustrated and say I am never
going back.

Nice grocery store. They have some pretty good sales as well.

The app was easy and quick! I will be using curbside pickup every time of possible.. also it should be noted the woman that brought my groceries out was named Stephanie.. She also took the time to answer a few random questions about produce and I appreciate that effort and knowledge.

I tried the order online and pick up curbside option. Super unhappy.
I tried to place this order online for pickup Saturday. Saturday is my day off, it is when I do my grocery shopping and I thought this would save time and help with social distancing.
I spent an hour signing up, figuring out the online ordering system and picking out all of the items I needed. (Roughly $170 to feed my family of 4 breakfast lunch and dinner all week plus snacks)
Once I got to the end I found out that I couldn’t pick this stuff up until Monday (despite the banner across the top of the page clearly stating “order now for delivery between 2 and 4pm today” - I didn’t even want delivery. Just curbside pickup) and none of the advertised sale prices I was seeing would be valid anymore. Inconvenient, but ok fine. I wasn’t going to can the whole idea because a whole hour of my afternoon would have been wasted at that point and I am very busy. My time is worth more than a few cents off canned pineapples. Now I know for next time.
I chose the “best comparable” substitution option for pretty much everything because I don’t really care what brand anything is. I’m not picky. They didn’t substitute ANYTHING. They just left all the things they couldn’t match exactly out. My total was only about 30 cents off from the estimated total I got online and nobody ever mentioned that there were missing items so I didn’t find out until I got home. Now I have to make another trip to town (which will take roughly an hour plus walking around the store because we live a ways out) to get 6 missing items so I can make the dinners I planned this week.
If I could give zero stars I would.

Went into Hugo's to get something from the Deli, for some time they have had my favorite dish on Thursdays, so today I went in and it wasn't there, so I asked the server if they had it and she said very rudely if it wasn't there then no, then she turned to the next customer before I could tell her I would like some of the chicken that was on special, I walked out without buying anything. Hugo's needs to improve on their customer service skills! It's not just the Deli either, some of their cashiers are not very pleasant at all. I only live 3 1/2 blocks away from Hugo's and go there a lot, but getting so I don't like going because of the attitude of the employee's .... sorry!

Always a great time at Hugo's(mostly because they have a Caribou Coffee located inside)! On to the store. They have some of the freshest breads and yummy pastries that out do the other supermarkets in Park Rapids. They also make these mini-croissants that are made with a TON of butter and garlic. They are to die for! Great selections all around, very personable staff, great place! (Don't forget your coffee on the way out!!)

It is unfortunate that this organization purchased the former J&B store which was excellent and rather upscale. The store is often poorly stocked and even when fully stocked has a very basic and limited selection. No real choices here. For example; looking for Sargento cheeses? No luck. Our Family brand and Crystal Farms along with some Kraft. B&M Baked Beans? Nope. Lots of Bush's Beans not much choice. Organic almond butter? Yup...for $16.00 a jar! Rip off. The meat department is fine but unfortunately did away with J&B's smoked meats and specialized products like bacon and smoked hams. The bakery was awesome with fresh baked goods, the best brownies anywhere and a great selection. Hugo's no longer does any baking at this store so far as is evident and what there is is seemingly trucked in and is not good. Oh, and be careful when you do purchase anything. There is a very good chance it has reached its expiration date or is very close to doing so. So, a decent facility with good parking in a good location.....all J&B's doing. The rest is mediocre at best. A real shame compared to what was there before.

Hugo's is a good store but it's hard to beat J & B Foods which was here before. The shelves were always filled up and now they seem to understaffed in some areas. It's still the best grocery store in town but man they had an excellent store before selling to Hugo's.

Great meat prices, good bakery. Produce is fine. Caribou coffee shop! A store setup that feels normal and makes sense. Good selection. If you can't find it at Walmart then go here.

I think Hugo's has a good positive energy , the employees seem to get along with each other very well for such young attractive crew.... Must be aliens from space
