Note: My review was recently removed, but I’m posting again until Don’s Cafe issues an official apology!
Now that I've had time to process and analyze the situation, I am still traumatized by the event. On May 4th, a colleague and I decided to venture to Don's Cafe for a brief lunch. What began as a simple lunch date actually turned into a nightmare that will haunt me for years to come. The place was somewhat busy, so we just sat at one of the booths located on the right side of the restaurant. The waiter rushes over to give us a glass of water, and I kindly asked for two straws---the manager huffed at my request. I simply ignored it and proceeded with my order. When the food was delivered to our table, the lady in the booth behind us had an accident. There were feces all over the booth and table. Due to the horrendous odor, we were unable to eat our meal. The problem is not with the lady who had an uncontrollable bowel movement (as we all know that accidents happen), however, it was with the manager who failed to handle the situation in a professional and respectable manner.
My colleague and I tried to get the manager's attention, but was responded with several eye rolls. After ten or so minutes, the manager was confronted by one of the busboys that we needed attention. She screamed, "I told them that I would be there." When she finally approaches our table, we whisper to her what had happen and why we cannot stay to eat. She proceeded to scream at us and then violated our personal space by waving her hands in our faces. After I tried to deescalate the situation, she kicked us out of the restaurant and continued to scream while we exited the cafe.
Later that evening, I was told by a fellow patron that the table was never cleaned and was used as normal. To wrap it all up, the manager disrespected both me and my friend multiple times by refusing to listen to our concerns, violating our personal space, and literally raising her voice. The owner should find another manager who likes people and/or consider providing courses regarding customer service. I refuse to eat at this establishment ever again and I pray that no one is disrespected again based on his or her identity.
*This café is not even one-star worthy, but I'm unable to give zero stars.

Quaint hometown dinner. The shakes are amazing, the toast is the best you've ever had, giant mounds of fries, and all very well priced. If you're in Morris, it's worth it to stop there.

The best little hole in the wall on this side of the Mississippi. Don't go when it's super busy, or you will be waiting for a long time. Other than that, this place is superb, and holds a special place in my heart... and stomach.

Can't go wrong with some Don's Toast to start your morning! ❤

Don's homemade bread is spectacular, their portions are generous, and you can't beat the malt shakes. Check the hours before you go. They're a bit odd.

A quintessential small town cafe diner with impeccable execution. Awesome homeade bread, gigantic portions in a clean unassuming atmosphere makes this place a favorite of multiple generations. I love this place!

Great little local place! You get tons of food for the price, and it's really good. Our waitress was great, she jokingly gave me a sippy cup when I spilled my water. I deserved it.

Good food. There were 18 of us. They had in and out with breakfast pretty quick. Everyone was happy.
