My family has shopped here most of my life! I have seen them go from small to the two fully operational stores with outreach services and classes! This has been a great business for the Duluth area! Now that I live in the West end I am loving the new location!

Love the place, although as someone who frequents co ops around the country, I wish the hot food bars would have healthier options. Too much Canola oil and sunflower oil and the burritos and other Ready To Eat breakfast items really are pretty awful for you at the end of the day. I equate these co ops (including those from the twin cities) to something you pair with a healthy lifestyle and I'd like to see more effort on their part to promote healthy eating with the food they prepare. This coming from someone heavily involved in the healthcare industry.

I mostly come here for lunch at the deli, which is always delicious, and depending on what you get, is comparably priced with other dining-out options. I used to get lunch at the Erbert & Gerbert's across the street, but the food at the Co-op is far better tasting, healthier, more varied, and I found that the prices were actually not that much higher. This location seems brighter, cleaner and larger than the central hillside location, and the employees seem a little friendlier as well.

Be careful. Look at your receipt. I purchased ten things. Two items were priced wrong. I do not appreciate paying too much for an already pricey place. The bulk section and produce are a big disappointment compared to the other Whole Foods Coop in town. Addionally, I found out the hard way the Denfeld whole foods ATM is not free. Finally, please pick up the used needles by the front door; this is very unsafe!

Great place to get groceries! Kinda expensive.

First and foremost I want to say many employees here are amazing and outstanding. I have received exemplary customer service from many of them. Some of the managers are A-OK. For the most part I have had negative experiences dealing with managers, not to say they are all bad. The experience I had today as a loyal customer was abysmal. Not only was I treated with disdain and disrespect my "disabilities" were not noted. I requested to order my groceries for pick up and the manager would not try to help me in "any way" in doing this. Just, "Go to Instacart." Now why should a customer pay a fee to come to the store and pick up the groceries?? Perhaps having a monopoly on health food stores make them think they can treat people any old way. Not me. I was simply expressing my opinions and beliefs on wearing a mask as I have asthma. I kindly explained to many people that our civil liberties are being taken away little by little.(Which I might add many people agreed.) I understand some persons do not have the intellect to grasp that one. As far as I know it is a free country to voice your opinions on such matters not to mention I am a customer. Back in my day we had this thing called Customer Service. I will not partake in this Occult Ritual not now or ever. Furthermore, not only am I an kind and compassionate human being, I am a disabled Veteran who served her country for nearly six years honorably. I have no doubt these Beta males would never get that. How I was treated could easily warrant a lawsuit. Trust me. The lesser beings I dealt with would never get a grip on that one. No worries all my Vet friends and health gurus will get the message. I ain't scared. I have arranged to purchase my items elsewhere as my previous health food store was glad to accommodate me as were some other nearby stores. Score. They agreed how I was treated was absolutely not acceptable. Funny how these fools tried to paint my demeanor in a certain way and that is impossible as I am a Magickal person. Not everything is hidden in plain sight. It is tough when the Veil comes down and I am powerful as my ancestors are. More powerful in the Etheral. You so called people do not scare me. People that want power so much have to take it like a bully. A true powerful being just is..... deal with it. Out with the old, in with the new. Cannot wait to see what your books look like soon. I hear lots of stores are really struggling. Good times. Money and Sigils are powerful. Peace!! From a Goddess and a Warrior you will be met.

Clean store with wide aisles. Fresh and varied selection in store. Great salad bar that includes hot items that change daily. Coffee and deli is high quality also. The staff is the best at this store.

First, I've shopped here for as long as the Denfeld store has been open and before that I'd shopped both downtown locations (old and new). While it's improved over the years, there has always been an air of pretention among employees. I'm not sure why- the type of person applying or something with the culture there maybe. That's something I've looked past for the most part because of food limits I have and the selection and quality. However, today I can't look beyond the rudeness and lack of consideration for individual human beings. I've heard of employees there yelling at customers before. Once, a pastor went in and when asked how he was, he thanked Jesus in his reply. He was hollered and pointed at and told he couldn't say that there. That's one example. It seems freedom and the expectation of respect need to be left outside of the door at the Co-op, even if you're a member owner (I am). Today I learned that when someone has a medical condition that requires them to feel an urgent need to take in air outside of a mask/pulls the mask off of the nose to take breaths in order not to have an issue while trying to shop, immediate, forceful action is taken to humiliate and accost. I took my mask off my nose today. I had a need to, and respectfully breathed in air through my nose with my mouth still covered. Suddenly, a female employee in an aggressive stance, eyes huge, was standing in front of my child and me. She demanded I cover my nose. I get it. She felt this was her duty. I calmly replied that because of a medical concern I needed my nose uncovered then. She was clearly angry and said, "Then you will have to speak to the manager!". She literally marched away, and I felt afraid but thought, okay, I'll get the last thing I need and get out of here. It was an awful feeling. But the worst part was that she, and then also the MOD, Luke, seemed to WANT other people to hear and see. He was short, rude, abrasive, and ready to force me to leave my grocery basket on the ground if I wouldn't obey him, even though all I did was say I had a need to have my nose uncovered right then, but would cover it up to get my last item. It was the most disgusting display of patriarchal dominance I have ever seen toward a woman and her child from a male employee anywhere. I just needed to grab one more thing, I said I'd cover my nose (even though my symptoms were being exacerbated by the frightening, mob-mentality, shaming treatment of Luke and his coworker). I didn't raise my voice, but they did, I didn't put up a fight, I only said what was true and was treated like a leper. Masks are policy, yes. I had one covering my face, even though I'm exempt in MN. I let my nose have a breath while I scanned the cooler. That is all. The co-op doesn't practice inclusivity. If they treated me this way, if they believe people like me shouldn't go in and shop if we have to take a breath, they're discriminating against every person with a disability, illness or condition that requires a quick breath to avoid a potentially larger medical issue. They offered no solution, only to kick me out and not allow me to purchase my small basket of food. Something is amiss with the training. The aggressive nature of how the employees handled us was disturbing. My child was afraid and anxious, and asked me afterward why they behaved that way. I'm guessing group-think of staff who witnessed it will prevent fairness/objectivity when their GM addresses this (*edit: he never called back) but my child and I know what happened. I used to be afraid of the police, but they aren't as dehumanizing as Luke and his staff member. Shop somewhere else if you run the risk of experiencing breathing/panic issues while shopping. I've never been treated like this for needing to breathe through my nose, and other grocery stores in the area have lovely, happy staff with a kind and joyful disposition. I'm sorry to have ever wasted money becoming a member owner at WFC. Update: The GM answered my husband's call. He took no responsibility for his staff or not returning my call. No surprise there.

Love this location. I wish there were more hot deli choices like the main store, but otherwise great!

This was my second visit to this co-op location. Though I was there to just grab a few things, the selection of items seems plentiful given the store size. I also had very friendly exchanges with one of the baristas as well as a cashier. Look forward to visiting again!
