Minnesota Nice Cafe

Incredible, made-from-scratch eats. Everything from the coffee to the cakes to the eggs were put together with the love of a mother. Didn’t have room to give the Hummingbird cake a try, good chance of my eyes rolling back in my head followed by a solid blackout so I couldn’t take the risk. Id recommend bringing a strong family member and a stretcher along because the portions are quite hearty. I pert near left in a body bag, but that won’t stop me from coming back!

Also, great story about how the owner fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning and operating a popular cafe. Love to see and live the American Dream while it’s in action!

The country fried steak was amazing, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The staff was super friendly and had a great atmosphere. The desserts look great but I was too stuffed to give it a shot.

Our first time in Bemidji and this was the first place we stopped in to eat and we were so happy to have come here. The place is charming and has a very homey vibe to it. The service was awesome and food was delicious, very few times do I see my husband enjoy the food as much as he did here. The bathrooms are some of the nicest and clean bathrooms I've been in. Overall highly recommended stopping in for breakfast and/or lunch.

We arrived to Bemidji for the weekend and looking for a local spot to eat. Luckily for us we arrived a about an hour before they closed, the restaurant was pretty packed and we waited about 10 min to be seated. The staff was very friendly and service was really good. I order the roast beef and walleye dinner, my wife got an omelet and breakfast potatoes. Let me tell ya that was the best roast beef I've had, I work in the restaurant business and tend to have high expectations and this place exceeded my expectations and had to pay a compliment with the waitress on how good everything was. If you're visiting Bemidji I highly recommend stopping by that is if you make it before 2pm closing time.

Minnesota Nice did the Catering of our board meeting event. 2 lunches a breakfast and Dinner. All the food was excellent and we had more than enough food. Highly recommended for you event

Amazing experience! We have heard about this Cafe in the past, but who knew it was this good. We went on a Saturday morning and wait time was only about 20 minutes. It was worth it. The variety of brekfast options exceeded our expectations for a smaller cafe. The food was cooked perfect and served hot. Not one person left hungry. Thanks Minnesota Nice Cafe for your hospitality, amazing food and friendly staff!

Service was great food was awesome. Was a bit crowded but every one was friendly. Kids loved the food as well. Our favorite spot now.

When I first moved here this place was nice, and they still have really good food and with so few selections in Bemidji that feels like a family establishment, it makes this review all the more harder but even the best food doesn't make up for horrible customer service. Took the troop out for lunch day before Easter, my wife couldn't be there because she was working (bless her heart), I wanted to treat her as well, so I ordered a sandwich to go and I asked for the cook to put the wet stuff on a sandwich separate from the bread. They wouldn't do it, when I asked to speak to whoever was in charge, a gentleman proceeded to come out and act rude and told me something like, I sell sandwiches not "components" of sandwiches, wouldn't let me talk, and talked over me at a rather high decibel (even though I went to the furthest part of the restaurant so as not to disturb other guest). I asked to remove it from the order, he was still not very pleasant, by the time I got to my table, I just asked them to cancel the whole order. When the waitress told him I could hear him ask, "he canceled the $90 ticket over a sandwich? "At which point he laughed at me. Yes I am going to cancel after the awkward moment created by an unwillingness to help a customer right next to the kitchen (no need to put myself into further trouble). Needless to say I'll never go again, and I'd highly suggest that anybody that wants to be served food the way they want it when they're paying for it, you don't go there either. Still paid for drinks and tipped the waitress as it was not her fault, I asked, and was told by a staff member that this was the new owner. Flabbergasted, honestly, this is the first time in my life I have cancelled an order at a restaurant. So, in summary, I ordered an entire sandwich, just separated. I DID not walk out on a bill, I cancelled an order after its entirety would not be fulfilled and my family time had been compromised. I took out asinine and any other personal jabs, strictly review. Poor customer service over something that doesn't make any sense...

My boyfriend and I both got sick after eating here this morning. We are both experiencing food poisoning-like symptoms, and this is the only common place we have both eaten at. Very disappointing since we have heard so many nice things about this place. I had the Denver Skillet and he had the Corned beef hash Skillet. Not sure if the food wasn't cooked properly or if there are issues with staff hand washing.
