Max & Emily's Bakery Cafe

I've eaten here twice now for dinner on recommendations and both times was disappointed. I received some sort of crescent sandwich a few weeks back and today ate a Philly steak. Both were fine, but i thought relatively bland and no real taste of note. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll respectively with the meals for dessert, the cookie was good, but the cinnamon role was pretty mediocre compared to what you can get for $.75 at Meijer.

The staff were exemplary and courteous. Certainly above average.

Breakfast may be a different beast entirely, but for those prices (I paid somewhere around $11-13 for each meal), you can find many better dinners, and for my money, I would actually prefer Jimmy John's next door for sandwiches.

EDIT: Breakfast is definitely better, loved the BYOB, several dollars cheaper too. Desserts remain mediocre at that time though.

Come here all the time. Amazing selection of sandwiches and other food stuffs! All of them delicious! I try to get something different every time, and I can't remember a time when I was disappointed. Highly recommend, always busy which is a blessing and a curse, definitely check it out.

I wish they were a chain restaurant! I no longer live in Mt Pleasant and I often still crave their California Girl sandwich! It's probably the best sandwich I've ever had!

Fantastic place to grab a sandwich. They have so many to choose from, they will meet everyone’s tastes. I love the vegetarian wrap with black bean burger, peppers, and onions with bbq sauce- yummy!

Best place to get a sandwich in Mt. Pleasant! The list of choices is impressive. Also enjoy the potato salad...make sure to grab some if they haven't run out. They are very involved in the community, putting on concerts and also supporting CMU Athletics.

Max and Emily's offers a variety of cold sandwiches. They have also sponsor along with other local business seasonal entertainment. Some of my favorite things they do is offering sack lunches for those who are homeless and less fortunate. Since COVID They have been short of help. They are currently hiring. Hour of operation is till 2 pm.
