Proving Grounds is a lovely, spacious cafe with good food and lots of beverage options. It’s a nice place to spend some time! I would be a very regular customer if Proving Grounds would source lighter roast coffees. At this time, however, all of the coffee is burnt making each cup unpleasant and void of any delicious coffee notes that make coffee so beautiful. Tons of potential at this place and I love the sandwiches!
EDIT: I would love to try PG again soon, but please please please serve lighter roasted coffee. If the beans are seeping oils, you over roasted it.

My favorite meeting place in Milford! Great bake goods, good lattes and the ice cream is my favorite.

One of Milford's best. Best coffee, lots of options for gluten/dairy free as well.

Great dark roast coffee, Phenomenal spicy egg sandwich.., they got me for a raspberry filled swing batter donut (delish), great service - cozy ambience! Highly recommend!!

Dropped by on a Saturday. Ordered a cold tea and a hot tea. Waited over 15 minutes for order to be fulfilled. Others who ordered after me received there drinks ahead of me. The staff was neither friendly or rude - just there. I was not thanked either at time of order or pick-up. Prices are very steep. You are paying mostly for their rent.

The few times I have been in here in the last couple of years, the coffee has always been good and the ambiance is fabulous. However, the welcome committee/customer service is lacking terribly. I met a friend here this morning and we walked up to the counter, apparently to the wrong section, and were greeted with “Are you placing an order?” No good morning or how can I help you? We replied “yes.” To which she said, “you can place you order down there.” “Oh, ok!” So down at the other counter, she asked what we’d like, to which we placed our order. Another person called us up to the first counter to get our coffee. We asked about cream and she said the little individual cups were around the corner. No fresh cream? Or at least none offered! Then we asked about flavors. The girl said there’s the simple syrup next to the little creamers. She offered no other flavors. We had to ask her. She said yes, they’re on the menu down there at the “order” counter, and it costs extra! Nothing about her or the other girl was pleasant or helpful! And nobody else was in the store so it’s not as if they were busy. I think both of those girls need to go to the Chick-Fil-A customer service school of excellence! Until then, it will probably be another year or two before I give this place another chance. Such a shame, as everything else is great!

Aside from the amazing lattes and avocado toast, this is my go to place for the best coffee house vibes in town!

I grew up in Milford and was happy to see they had a local roaster when I was back a few years ago for a visit. The coffee, baristas, and atmosphere were great. My Brother sent a bag of beans recently (espresso blend) and they were fantastic on the home rig.
