Very nice staff and great coffee. The muffin was also delicious. They have cute merch.

Best coffee I could find in the Upper Peninsula! On a recent vacation to the area, I was worried about finding any coffee places at all. Came across this gem after a Google search and so glad I did! Made a visit every day of the vacation. Well Done! The lattes are wonderful.

I wanted to give them one star because the people were so rude, but the coffee was too dang good. We walked in and a guy and girl we're playing cribbage. He shoved back in his chair and said, "Every damn time!"
He got up and took our coffee order and she helped make it with eye rolling and glares. Tried visiting with them but they clearly wanted us gone. So the service was the rudest I've ever experienced, but the coffee was amazing. Fair enough?

In the early stages of what turned out to be an exhausting three day trip, I was so grateful to the folks at Dead River for having such a pleasant atmosphere and fantastic coffee. The young lady at the counter prepared the best mocha latte I'd had in a long while.

Oh my gosh what an incredible find! I am sitting out on the sidewalk on a cool fall morning sipping amazing coffee while enjoying the view of Lake Superior. A funky little unassuming roaster that is the real deal!

Take it from a coffee snob...They have awesome fresh coffee. Theo knows how to roast his beans..and roasts to perfection. They use all fresh ingredients, everything is home made even the whip cream and vanilla for the latte's, The atmosphere is perfect..I just wish they were open more and all eve!! This is A must stop!!

Mmmm This coffee was so tasty! Old-fashioned style shop with a Northwoods kinda feel. Highly recommend The Misery Bay Cold Brew

A good selection of coffee beans to choose from with limited seating. You can get coffee drinks and some snack items. Sorta hipster type environment. If you need anything more to eat Lake Superior Baking is just around the corner.

the menu was a but unclear so when I asked for a few clarifications the employee was so vague that a customer had to help me out. What I was told would be a plain croissant turned out to be a ham and cheese sandwich with mustard. My iced latte was 98% ice and therefore left no room for the milk to sweeten it up. service was okay, staff was friendly. I wont be comming back but it is a cute little place to check out.

One of the best local coffee shops I've had the pleasure of visiting. The manager/owner is passionate and knowledgeable about their product and helpful when necessary. Try their nitro brew!
