Friendly staff, calm busy atmosphere, community based, best coffee in City of Marquette!

Usually have had pleasant experiences at Baby Cakes. It is finals week, and I was excited to get a muffin and sit outside and study with a friend this afternoon. I went into the cafe, and went up to the register, card in hand and waited to be served. A woman working was doing "busy work" going back and forth, but saw me as I waited at the front. No acknowledgment. A man even came from the back saw me, and went back into the back, didn't say anything. I waited for about 7 minutes, being completely ignored. I became kinda embarrassed, and left. I was a barista at a great coffee company for a few years. Great customer service is a MUST. I am sad it happened, and it will take me a while to come back :( .

New decor and floor plan since last visit 2 years ago. New show cases and still the best service. You'll feel welcomed and want to hang out for a bit.

nope nope

The owners might be problematic but they're definitely onto something with these pastries. You can taste the hate in every bite and it makes breakfast so much better.

Loves Baked Goods Yum!

Firstly, their muffins are beyond compare with the huge, crusty muffin tops! Secondly, unfortunately, all three experiences I have had with their "to go" sandwiches were less than satisfactory. The sandwiches are wrapped in cling wrap, effectively crushing all sides of the sliced bread. I felt like I was back in grade school having my lunch. The sandwiches were smashed and soggy and too expensive for a "school" sandwich. Lastly, I have purchased scones on numerous occasions. Some scones are delicious and moist, e.g. maple pecan, pineapple coconut. Other scones are baked way too long with rock hard, thick crusts and, as a consequence, end up dry as a bone. After breaking through the surface, they crumble in my hands. (The crust of the scones was between one-half to one inch thick.) The "bad scones and sandwiches" experiences were ALWAYS at Coffee For a Cause at UP Health System - Marquette. It is as if the early morning bakers/sandwich makers sell the store "rejects" to them. These inferior products are giving the coffee shop and Babycakes a "DO NOT BUY FROM THEM" name. I am hoping that this review is read by the owners of both businesses in order to assist them in repairing their good reputations.

Sadly not very good experience.. I ordered a Chai Latte and it was awful... Steam milk with a tea bag inside for 4.25$..Just taste like milk!...Maybe their coffee might be better..but for the high prices, I'll prefer somewhere else. Bake goods are ok..too pricey for what they are though..

AMAZING VEGETARIAN BREAKFAST OPTIONS. THIS IS NOT JUST A CAKE BAKERY!!! Coffee, eggs, wraps, muffins, scones, bagels..... so good.

Was surprised at how busy they are there! Quite the never-ending line of folks! The servers were great, super friendly n courteous. Very nice atmosphere and very reasonably priced!

I visited Babycakes for the first time today, and it's officially my favorite! I picked up the lavender macaron, and a lemon petite. Absolutely perfect!

Delicious! Stopped for dessert while waiting for our table down the street.
