Cozy coffee shop popular with the local college students for a quiet space to have coffee, delicious baked goods, including vegan and gluten free, and do some homework. Great selection of tea mixes, created right there in house.

Menu is affordable and it's always great service. Laid back atmosphere and as long as you buy something they'll let you hangout as long as you want, even if you finished your coffee forever ago. Got free wifi. Pretty popular place

Cold brew was great. Not too bitter, which is something that I generally find with cold brews. "Cute" environment, according to my girlfriend. Very chill inside the shop. A large number of plugs and the internet was snappy once we snagged the password. We sat in a large booth area and got some morning work done. Pretty easy place to be productive.

second only to water street, one of the best coffee shops in the city. expect a wait on saturdays and sundays, but i think that speaks to the quality. baristas are kind, there's usually good music playing, and it's a good place to work or catch up with friends

I love Fourth Coast Cafe, open all day - forever! There is always a diverse crowd and they maintain a no rush atmosphere, ensuring everyone enjoys their time here. Small snugs give a great view of the street without being closed off. You will usually meet some interesting people here.

This is my favorite coffee shop. It has lost much of its charm as they sold out the homeless and less fortunate. They used to be open 24 hours and acted as a buffer against the elements for Kalamazoo’s less fortunate. People gave way to profits. They have excellent baked goods and beverages. I appreciate 4th coast but they lost some of their charm when they sold out the less fortunate!

I love the atmosphere! The coffee is always good. The baked goods are also amazing. You can also order food from Crows Nest upstairs and eat it while studying.

Got caught in an overnight layover on my bus trip in Kalamazoo, and this place was exactly what I needed to stay awake during my layover. Great barista, great coffee, great espresso, great musical selections, and great service. Next time I'm passing through Kalamazoo I'll make sure to spare some time to stop back again.

They have high quality bread.

It had been about a year since my last visit and had a nice experience. Yesterday, however, things took a turn for the worse. I walked in and asked for a coffee and experienced the worst customer service of my entire life. First I wasn't greeted, never obtained eye contact from the 4th coast worker, was interrupted when explaining what I was wanting to order, and was curtly informed that they "do not have blended drinks" as if I had offended her by asking. She proceeded to say while I was still at the counter (and hadn't ordered yet) that "I'm off in twenty minutes and need to take care of the tip jar" as she dumped it out in front of me and started counting it. I excused myself and left without purchasing anything and never plan to go back!
