The owner was downright despicable I cant believe the way she was addressing her staff yelling and screaming at them for small mistakes or being slow to serve up orders, absolutely diabolical of her to think that just because she owns the place she can treat everyone under her with such disdain. The blatant disrespect and belittlement of her own employees should be considered a crime against humanity. Staff was wonderful besides that old battle axe.

This coffee house is the most disgusting establishment I’ve ever stepped into. The owner is rude, entitled, and disrespectful to customers and staff.
The food they serve is NOT safe to consume! The case you see is just for show and is not refrigerated. You can touch the glass and feel for your self.
If you value your money, respect people, and not want food poisoning, do NOT shop here.
0/10. Utterly Disgusting.

Uptown Coffeehouse is so welcoming and cute! I've been coming here for a couple years to study, hang out with friends, or just grab a quick coffee after long nights, and it's always felt so homely. Nat, one of their employees, has been so sweet to my girlfriend and I and we always just love to come here on Sundays because she just makes our day and leaves us both smiling. 😊 Their prices are completely reasonable and I highly recommend getting their frozen drinks and tea for the summer and enjoy their indoor seating area or to walk around downtown!

You heat up your own food in a dirty microwave, then they ask you for a tip.

The coffee is good but they never seem to be open. Google tells lies and says they're open only to have you left wanting and hopeless as you tug on the locked door to the building in a caffeine deprived feral rage

They have good coffee and the staff are all very nice, but the owner is a real piece of work. I genuinely don't know how anyone can work there with how she talks to them.

uptown has been my favorite coffee shop for a couple years now! in my opinion, this is better than what i get at starbucks or biggby (which i also enjoy)! tge drinks are delicious, the employees are friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is just so cozy. i always highly recommend stopping in. :)

I grew up in Howell and have loved this place since it opened. That being said, I am Extremely disappointed in management.
I have reached out multiple times in effort to speak with the owner briefly. When I first reached out in the beginning of 2020 via Facebook, I received a brief response, but nothing after my reply. No complaints or anything bad, I just had something to discuss.
Not only have I not spoken with the owner or anyone in charge, but my efforts have been completely ignored. I haven't received so much as an, "I'm sorry, but we are extremely busy right now. We will reach out as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding." Would that have been so hard? I even went into the business, left my contact info, and still nothing.
How can I frequent an establishment with staff that doesn't believe it's patrons are worth a few seconds of their time?
It should also be noted that I also reached out to Black Iron Coffee Roasters and was able to meet with their owner the same day.
The conversation took less than 5 minutes and was a nice experience.
If there is anything that should be taken away from this it's that your customers enjoy being treated with respect and common courtesy as well.

I grew up in Howell and I remember always stopping here and Gus's after school. That was over 10 years ago. I moved back here last year and I try to stop by at least once a month with my spouse. I love how friendly everyone is and I love that they don't make you feel uncomfortable for who you are because you are different. It's nice to always come here and feel welcomed. I am happy that they are still thriving and doing well in the community! We need more businesses like Uptown. Please, don't ever change.
