Delicious specialty coffee with a beautiful atmosphere. I visited Matari at lunch time on a Monday and they were packed with customers! Every table was filled with smiling faces with a tray at the center of mouth-watering, steaming coffees, teas, and pastries. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't wait long at all even though they were swamped. I ordered a Yemeni latte that was unlike anything I've had before. The cardamom adds so many levels of depth and flavor! So glad we tried out this new spot and I definitely recommend checking Matari out if you haven't already!

Great ambiance and vibes to the location. I was recommended the Yemeni Latte and it was a great option. The drink and atmosphere go well beyond your average coffee shop.

I recently moved back to the area, and found my new favorite coffee shop! The food and coffee is delicious and intriguing, the service is fantastic, the aesthetic is gorgeous, and seating is comfy. I recommend the mofawar coffee and coconut basboosa.

This coffee place is a special one for Canton. It's teeming with people as I write this. The pastries, the desserts and their menu look impressive and delicious. I had the adeni tea and one of the savory pastries and loved them. Maria at the register is welcoming and patient. Service was timely. Totally a very delightful experience. Will recommend to everyone.

Love the pastries and coffee here. Atmosphere is great, weekends seem a bit packed but still timely service. I will be back for sure.

Impressed how busy it was and yet clean, friendly staff and above all very nice coffee. Tried Mofawar first time in my life, I guess I will be addicted to it.

Such an incredible atmosphere, space + experience! Loved it! From the beautiful style (velvet bench, layout, high ceilings), to the way we were greeted to the lovely drinks/pastries… it was all delightful!

Wonderful ambiance as soon as you walk in. The decor and colors incorporated into the interior design are so bright and warm. I love how they've incorporated a beeper to let you know when the food is done. The music makes the room so alive, and the wall decor keeps the energy at an all time high.
I went with the Iced Yemeni Latte that has cardamon and cloves into it and WOW! It's like a flavor explosion went off in my mouth. Seriously, as soon as I took a sip, it was an aroma of different flavors that work so well together.
There were so many good-looking desserts to choose from, it was hard to select only one, but I went with the Pistachio Bamboosa as my dessert. The smooth texture of it along with the crunchiness of the pistachios works extremely well. Felt very light and airy, yet filling. I'm really at a loss of words. It's just such a perfect mixture of ingredients cooked to perfection. You can definitely tell that lots of love went into the menu as a whole.
The workers are extremely friendly and constantly checked up on me to make sure I was enjoying my meal and was satisfied with my overall experience. Had a great chat with one of the workers as I was taking some sweets for carry out. Overall amazing experience and would highly recommend.

I’ve tried multiple drinks on their menu and everything is so delish. My favorite is the pistachio frappe. This place is a must try. I hope they make more locations as this one is very busy :)

The drinks and the desserts at Matari are great, but the atmosphere wasn't. It was terribly crowded on a Saturday night, which is good for the business, but most of the people taking seats were no longer eating food or drinking coffee/tea. Many of the customers were pushy and rude. Also, the kid making the drinks was sullen and rude. I know what it's like to be a teenager working a customer service job like that, but I wish his leadership had asked him to be more friendly to the customers and at least speak to them when he gave them their drinks.
We enjoyed our coffee and desserts outside because of how chaotic the atmosphere was. Haraz in Dearborn is a much more chill spot. The service, food/drinks, and atmosphere are better. All said, I would probably return to Matari on a week night, but probably not again on a Saturday night.
