Relaxed, ambient place, filled with lovely knickknacks, edgy wall treatments and lights. Great photo op backdrop! They elevate the experience with the use of dainty serve wear and photo-perfect desserts.
Yemeni latte is good, and I'd like to go back for more. A few other drinks leave much to be desired.
Good news for vegan/lactose-free food preference: there are at least two drinks on the menu that are sans milk.

If you’re looking for a unique and delicious coffee experience, then you have to try Matari Coffee. It’s one of my new favorite places to go and I’m sure it will become yours too! Their menu offers an array of different delicious drinks and treats, but my personal favorite is the Matari Tea. This unique blend combines green tea, Himalayan salt, special spices, and is topped off with roasted pistachios. It’s a flavor combination that you won’t find anywhere else, and that pink color is so pretty. If you’re ever in Canton, make sure you check them out.

A very good coffee location especially if you are tired of standard coffee chains. Some excellent tea options such as Adeni are also available in addition to most of the common coffee options. Try their honeycomb bread which is baked really well.
Plenty of seating available (10-15 tables). Very good service along with great ambience. Highly recommended.

Matari is a great, new place and I couldn't be happier that it's right in my hometown. I've been twice - once in the cafe and once for a take away and both experiences were great!
The savory treats and drinks we've tried are all so good and filling. There were so many delicious looking things that we appreciated the recommendations from the very friendly and helpful staff.
Foods we've enjoyed so far (in order of our preferences) include:
1. Honeycomb Bread (YUM!)
2. Potato, cheese and herbs pastry
3. Feta cheese, basil, tomato and herb pastry
4. Goat cheese and olive pastry
Our drink choices have included a Yemeni Latte, Adeni tea and Mofowar coffee. All are wonderful!
Although we have yet to get any desserts, it is fun just looking at the case of their works of art!
The place is sparkling clean, well-appointed and comfortable. There are plenty of well-spaced tables inside. The style is sleek with interesting artwork, including a gorgeous mural. It is the perfect place to meet with friends or have a casual date.

One of the best Yamenese coffee shop in the area. The ambience is fantastic. Service is good. Tea and coffee selections are awesome. The owner is onsite and gives personal attention to every customer. Takes the time to explain what's on the menu. Once you order the service is quick and the coffee taste is unique and fantastic. Priced very reasonable. Only thing is the seating is a bit uncomfortable to sit for long and do your work/study, like you do in other coffee shops.

Adeni tea and Pistachio drink was very tasty. The medium pot was surprisingly smaller than expected for $15 but overall it tasted good.
Baklava cheesecake was delicious! I’ve never seen anything like it before, flaky and soft with perfect crunch from the pistachio. I would highly recommend it. We were bummed it was sold out by the time we went back for a second slice.
The decor is nice other than the tables, it doesn’t match the decorations and it feels like it’s from an ice cream shop.
I would definitely come again if I’m in the area.

My experience during my first visit to Matari Coffee was superb and I look forward to trying all of their various coffees and teas before I settle on the best of the best. I’ve had their mafowar coffee and pistachio tea so far and they are my ‘go to’ depending if I feel like having and amazing coffee or tea. If I want a constant staple of the Yemeni tea culture, I’ll go with an Adeni tea which is a milk based tea that is accented with such a unique and subtlety spiced flavor. I still have a ways to go and will update my review accordingly.
The manager was so hospitable and engaging in spite of how busy he was and he set the tone for his amazing crew as they were all so pleasant and handled their busy rush with grace and efficiency.
The shop itself is beautifully decorated and captures the historical essence of Yemen and the role of coffee in it’s rich history.
It’s hard to be critical of a shop that delivers when it comes to quality, service, and beauty. This cafe is a must try for all and I’m fortunate to live so close to this gem.
Full disclosure: I will take back everything I’ve described if this place becomes too busy for me to visit :-)

We tried 3 coffees from the menu and they were all very good. Cardamom flavour coffee was a first for me. Very good coffee, good ambience, the chocolate pastry we tried was the one of the best desserts I have had in a cafe. Quick service and multiple options to choose from.

My wife and I love exploring different flavor profiles and Matari delivered.
I got the Mofawar, coffee with cardamom and cream. The cardamom flavor is great. This is a great alternative to the Turkish coffee if you’re looking for something more to sip on without sacrificing flavor.
My wife got the Matari, green tea, Himalayan sea salt, milk, and spices topped with Pistachios. This is is a surprisingly creamy drink and has a nice subtle “red velvet” flavor. Delicious.
We ordered both without sugar and there was no need to add it.
There is a nice variety of pastries all with unique flavorings and pairings. We tried the Pistachio Macaron. The pistachio definitely stood out and the sweetness of honey and fresh berries were a welcomed punch to our taste buds. May have to come back for the baklava cheesecake!
The internal design is fantastic. The black walls with gold accents is very regal. Matari has an upscale feel.

This coffee shop is an incredible experience. The atmosphere is soothing and calm, and the smell of cardamom in the air mixed with coffee is wonderful. Everything inside is very elegant and feels relaxing and upscale. We tried the cupcakes (s'mores, Ras Malai) and the pistachio cheesecake. The cheesecake was the best pistachio cheesecake I've ever had! The cupcakes were good too, just a little cold because they are kept in a refrigerated display case.
