Quality of coffee and consistent output from their baristas is second to none, for Boston and Greater Boston area. Read up on the fascinating George Howell story starting with Coffee Connection

The coffee is very good. The espresso drinks are well-made. The staff is friendly. They think a lot about coffee. They have some interesting flavored drinks that would be good for someone adventurous.
They make croissants and chocolate croissants fresh in the morning, and those are worth asking for.
It's a coffee shop with a good vibe, and a great addition to the neighborhood

A pioneer in specialty coffee 1975. This location is convenient with locally made baked goods good tea quality. With indoor seating a couple in front of the store and plenty outside seating and in back of the building as well.

Staff here are so nice. I'm just getting into pour over and they show me what grind size to use etc. Great maple lattes as well

Coffee is really good you can’t really sit inside

Best coffee anywhere!
Can have coffee and pastry in the cafe ... if you can find a free seat 😁
Also a good selection of beans and some accessories are available.

The only coffee shop I need! George Howell is top 3 cafes in the metro Boston area for me. Coffee and espresso drinks are crafted to perfection. I really appreciate that they give you a free beverage with a purchase of beans. Pastries aren’t made in house but are always fresh and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

George Howell has some of the best coffee around. The majority of my visits here are to purchase bags of coffee to brew at home. The customer service is great. I pick my bag of coffee, tell them what kind of coffee maker I will be using and they grind it for me. Plus you get a free small coffee with the purchase! The coffee is definitely not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

I went in today for a coffee with my friend this afternoon. We originally ordered take out cups but then decided to sit at the small bar instead. The manager rudely said we had to leave and “not take up space”. We felt singled out as many other people were parked in the cafe working on their laptops for hours. As someone who used to be a regular customer, I am now pleased to see cafe Nero is going up around the corner.
