A nice little neighborhood institution. One of the best lattes in the area - the steamed milk is consistently really velvety and the espresso is equally good. Quirky decor, friendly (sometimes Cambridge-aloof) staff. Good scones. Will always stop in when I'm passing by!

Fine coffee and nice vibe, but you have to pay for wifi and itโs very small

I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and a latte. The latte was excellent. The sandwich was microwaved mediocracy. I could have made something better and fresher myself at home. Had no flavor really. Would recommend the coffee, but not the food.

Stopped here on a day out with a friend. I enjoyed my parfait and he got a nice mozzarella, tomato, pesto sandwich. It looked excellent. He also said the tea was wonderful.

For our annual coffee crawl this year, my wife and I are biking around Cambridge and Somerville, MA and trying to determine the best place for iced coffee/lattes around. We are reviewing based on for categories: taste, coffee/ice ratio, atmosphere, and customer service.
Simon's Coffee Shop is out first stop:
Taste: ****
My iced honey latte was great. Not overly sweet with the honey dissolved throughout for a consistent flavor. There is an underlying depth to the espresso that adds a nice, nutty background note. My wife's iced mocha was not as good, with the espresso flavor all but marginalized and a palette dominated by cocoa flavor, almost akin to a Starbucks mocha.
Coffee/Ice Ratio: *****
Spot on. Perfect amount of ice to chill the drink while not diluting it by melting too quickly.
Atmosphere: ***
Nice, but not super inviting. I wouldn't want to chill out and enjoy my drink here... Seems best for a grab-and-go experience.
Customer Service: **
Almost non-existent, honestly. The workers seemed too concerned with joking among themselves to pay more than the barest of concern to the patrons.
All in all, Simon's is a good coffee joint, but it's kept from greatness by lackluster employees.

In every city there are iconic places that dive into and become part of the neighborhood. The coffee kind of becomes secondary over time. Simon's is one of those places. The coffee was outstanding when it first started and has been through ups and downs, largely depending on the turnover of the barista. Best coffee in Boston? Not necessarily. But definitely a coffee shop you can find excitement for yourself.

I've been coming here for years and am always very happy with the taste and quality of the sandwiches and coffee. It does, however, always seem to take an exceptional amount of time for them to prepare the sandwiches and coffee compared to other similar establishments. Even so, the best coffee shop in the area if you're not in a rush.

It was lovely to stop and have a nice scone and a "cuppa". I do miss the company of others. They can only allow one person to sit inside. However, the personnel were a joy to see again..
A very nice experience at a time of great stress.
All the best.

The staff is super friendly and they adore your little kids if you bring them along. My daughter always gets special little treats when we visit. It is a cozy atmosphere with a lot of regulars that get together just to chat. On the walls they have a rotating art gallery. Overall, it is a wonderful place.
