This place is amazing. One of the best Espressos I’ve ever had. Complex, full bodied, low acidity, and no aftertaste. Super friendly, helpful staff, amazing pastry (try the bear claw!!!).

The place is cosy and worth a visit. Burrito and bagel breakfast offerings were good. Coffee was also good. The music was too high at times, and particularly annoying when pop music was playing. This is not the right kind of music for a cafe that aims to be a relaxing place. Please keep the music down and play something decent instead of pop.

My review of Farmers was formerly 1 star due to the creepy little man known as Andrew. He has seemingly been fired, or was smart enough to move on with new owners/management having taken over several months ago. With these new great folks, I love going to Farmers for great coffee and awesome bagel sandwhiches!! Highly recommend this neighborhood spot.

We came in early on a Sunday morning, so there was only one employee (the proprietor?) running everything. Both the brewed coffee and latte were great, and the breakfast egg sandwiches are made fresh to order. You might have to wait a bit longer than your average corporate coffee shop, but it is well worth it.

The food, coffee, and ambiance are all excellent, but the service needs serious work. There were only 1-2 employees during a week when many students are coming in to study for finals. They also forgot about my order, and apologized by giving me a coupon (which I couldn't actually use for this visit). When I finally got my sandwich, after saying "no tomato" TWICE, it had tomato on it. Again, great food and coffee in a great environment, but the staff is a mess. Would love to continue supporting a local business, but the service is really lacking.
Side note: It's 2017, you can start acknowledging that people who aren't Christian do in fact exist. It's not that big of a deal, but "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" would be just fine.
Also, it's probably better to play quiet calming music in a coffee shop, not loud pop music.

I was in Boston recently and this place was recommended. The coffee was wonderful, I am a home roaster myself and have a particular affinity for Ethiopian coffee. The atmosphere is homey and decidedly unpretentious and Andrew the barista was friendly and just a nice guy. I will go back there when in the city. Oh, I like the album cover art wall too.

Bummer. This place use to be special, but it seems the owners have lost passion for what they do. Scones are stale. Coffee is just treated like fuel to go. No more mugs because the owners thought it wasn't a good investment. You always feel pressured to order by Andrew. And they randomly will close early. Just not a dependable business anymore. Rather hop to Render around the corner. At least they care.

Awesome atmosphere. Really great place to study and read. Had a bagel and hummus and it was so great. My friends both got the chai tea latte and they said they thought it was amazing. The owner even told us that they roast their own chai tea. Really great costumer service! We will definitely be back :)

Just echoing what others have said: great tasting coffee, friendly staff, extremely convenient location across from Mass Ave T stop, awesome indoor and outdoor work atmosphere. Will definitely be back to try their food.
