Coffee Beanery Ocean City 94th St

This place was within walking distance of our AirBnb, so we decided to stop over on a Sunday morning. There was a small line, but nothing crazy. The car meet was going on outside. I ordered a large black coffee. With such a simple order, I assumed the employee would just go over to the machine and fill up a cup for me or just hand me a cup so I could serve myself at a machine like other coffee shops do. Nope. I stood there for around 10 minutes while they made various specialty drinks for others. If I didnt already pay for the coffee, I would have just left. My friend was waiting outside with her dog and was going to order something after I came out, but told me to just forget it because of how long it was taking me. When my name was called, the guy gave me an ICED black coffee.. Not wanting to waste more of my time, I just took the thing and laughed. It's sad that you have to specify HOT these days when ordering a simple cup of coffee. Thankfully, I can tolerate cold coffee so I drank it. It was fine. I really wanted to like this place, but the insane wait for a simple cup of black coffee and then the order being wrong when you're paying $5.50 for one cup results in a 1/5 score. Unfortunately, we ended up going to a nearby Dunkin for hot coffee after getting back to our place. Hopefully the next time I'm in OC and try this place it will be a better experience.

Ordered a grande latte from the "specials" menu. It tasted pretty good, but it was almost $7 including an absurd $0.50 upcharge for "light ice." I can only imagine that would be for extra product instead of ice, but the cup was shorted a finger-width at the top (about 10% missing from the whole drink). Absurd pricing.

In addition, the outdoor handicap ramp ended in a two inches deep by ten-foot wide pool of water. Thank heavens I didn't need that.

UPDATE: Decreasing service to 1* after lame response to my review. "We'd never short a drink" after I told them it was short. "Everybody has water issues" is not a solution...build an inexpensive bridge over the puddle at your door is a solution.

Love love love! Best espresso! Great açaí bowls, muffins, bagels all breakfast sandwiches! We love this place! Great staff! Everyone so nice and always fresh ingredients…

Went there on 4/21 and me not being a big coffee fanatic and first timer I wanted to try a frozen drink. The young lady at the register who helped me was kind, but couldn’t tell me what ingredients was in each drink. For instance, when I asked about the fudge ripple, and what was in it, she said “fudge”, and then when I asked about the caramel crunch, and what was in it, she said, “caramel”. When I asked for specifics of each, she gave me a look of uncertainty. I left disappointed and frustrated. I went across the street to 7-11.

I give the Coffe Beanery 5 stars just on their coffee alone, but they have so much more to offer. Besides coffee, you can grab an egg sandwich, croissant, muffins, and crumb cakes. They also offer yogurts and acai bowls as well and these are excellent. For beverages, they have more than just coffee. Here you can grab sodas, numerous different waters and healthy cold drinks of various types (see photos). The staff here are very friendly and go out of their way to help you find what you want or additional information on the products they sell. There is seating both indoors and outdoors with handicap accessibility. You can also purchase coffee beans and K-cups for you do it yourselfers. They do have a drive-thru if you just want to do a fly-by....highly recommend the Coffee Beanery.

Great cafe latte, ordered mine with an extra shot. The espresso was delicious. The blueberry scone was soft and tasty as well. Great menu selections, although I was pleased with what I ordered. Wish I had stumbled upon this place when we first arrived, not at the end.

Love, love, love the fudge ripple! The coffee shop is so comfy/homey and always very clean! The owner of this shop is the sweetest most loving person ever and the staff are also all very kind! 10/10 definitely do recommend <3

Inconsistent in how they make the drinks. Ask for extra espresso one day and it’s amazing, next day ask for the same and it is watery.

Great strong coffee, staff was friendly but clearly stressed, a woman ran up to the counter screaming there was a hair in her sandwich but I didn't get food so just be careful, place was packed

We were looking forward to a good coffee and bagel sandwich. Coffee was good but the bagel sandwiches were tasteless and made in a microwave,convection oven. Eggs, sausage and cheese were put into a coffee cup to be cooked. The everything bagel tasted like a plain bagel and when asked for a refund for the sandwiches we were told there were no refunds for food, that they could make another sandwich. We support small businesses but we will need to find another breakfast/coffee establishment.
