Not my thing. "Big gulp"-style coffee palates may find this appealing, an espresso coffee palate wont. They served me a sour, watery espresso. I contemplated asking them to remake but when it's that far off there's really no point.

I find it a great stopping-off point on my bike ride in to work. I've never found the staff to be anything but welcoming and it's wonderful in the summer to be part of the community of coffee drinkers, local characters, dogs and others spilling out onto the sidewalk benches to read or chat with one another.

Nice and efficient coffee shop with a large variety of pastries. Quite crowded. Tough to find seating. But the staff is nice, Americano tastes good, and the great to stop for items to go.

Thank goodness for Qs. It gives downtown Bethesda a neighborhood coffee shop with really good coffee. As a child it was Giffords Ice Cream where everyone went. Long gone now its Qs. Coffee drinks, teas, hot chocolate, water, a few sweets and one can be ready for the day or night ahead. Really good coffee. Very nice staff. Line moves quickly. Closed Christmas Day. Funny to see folks coming by anyway and walk away dejected. One Christmas I will sit outside with a thermos of hot coffee. Merry Christmas!

Nice independent coffee shop on Bethesda row. Good coffee selection although seating is limited. If you're hungry grab a bagel next door and have coffee at Quartermain.

Ick. I tried one of the frozen coffee drinks 2 weeks ago and the coffee tasted burnt. I like Starbucks so roasted coffee doesn't bother me but this coffee just tasted like burnt beans were scraped straight into frozen ice. It was way over sweetened. It was the worst drink I've ever had. I wasted my money because I threw it out. I didn't have time to go back and complain .
Today I tried the iced tea with fresh squeezed lemon and again I was disappointed.
I could go on but I've said enough. I won't be back.

Nice alternative to Starbucks, one of the very few that seem to have found a formula to compete head-on. I think the formula is as follows: offer everything that Starbucks does (decent coffee, WiFi, terrible food, a quiet place to sit/meet/work), and locate in a high-income area where many people prefer to avoid ubiquitous national chain stores.

I've been going to quartermaine for a couple years now and have with few exceptions been pleased with the quality of their coffee. However, I am regularly put off by their staff. The wife recently ordered a drink that the employee was unfamiliar with but which she had ordered there before and met with inexplicable hostility. When she tried to politely describe it he only became more frustrated. Also, their WiFi settings seem to be set to allow only a very low limit of people to join - I have tried on no less than 4 devices including iOS and android. I normally would prefer to patronize local establishments but if they specialize in specialty drinks but only get exasperated when a customer orders one then I think I'd rather cross the street to dunkin donuts where coffee is ok, the staff is cheerful, the WiFi always works.

The manager was completely out of line! So rude and disrespectful to a fellow employee that was just trying to help. I called the shop shortly after around 12:30 to relay my concerns and the manager said that he found the call to be rude and hung up on me..? Love the coffee there but hate the mistreatment and work environment I witnessed.
