As an Englishman one of the things I miss most about home is savory pies, very hard to find here. This place is one of the few that does them and believe me they are very good indeed. The cakes are also very good. Just a lovely little bakery and one I visit every time I’m in the area.

Excellent all around. Focus is on the patisserie with in house made everything. Limited but sufficient coffee menu. Just try everything. Bagels are fabulous. Highly reccomended. They only make bread on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will sell out by noon! Highly reccomended!

When traveling, my family loves to find the small, local bakeries. From Old Orchard Beach pier, it was sooo worth the 15 minutes drive and small business pricing. Some may complain, but the skill behind these pastries are worth every penny!
My dad and I agree that we don't think we've had a better danish anywhere. Perfectly flaky, crispy but soft, amazing fruit and flavor--I'm obsessed!
I didn't try it, but my dad groaned from the deliciousness of the Cinnamon bun, so I take that as another compliment towards their pastry making. Oh and mom loves the blueberry muffin!
Hopefully swinging back through tomorrow on our way out of town :)

Bought this strawberry and cream cake for my wife’s birthday. Visually the cake looked great. Unfortunately, the cake itself was overcooked and very dry! Disappointing considering all the good reviews.

I ordered a Blueberry muffin and a strawberry turnover, and an ice coffee. The food was so dry and over cooked and bitter it was honestly disgusting and I couldn't even eat it. 🤢 The iced coffee wasn't good either. The older lady working was not friendly at all. The ac was broken and it was 90 degrees out so it was hotter than an oven inside. Overall, It was just a horrible experience and I would not recommend anyone going here..

I had a meat pie that was good. Plenty of sweets pastries for those with sweet tooths. And coffee, they grind and have their own roast. 👍🏻

their bread rolls are a must have for holiday dinners, and the almond chocolate croissants are stellar

Pretty mediocre honestly
If they made some improvements to their food I would try it again

Really delicious. I had the pork hand pie and a raspberry Danish. Hubby had an everything bagel and a cinnamon bun. The hand pie was perfectly soft and crumbly. The one thought I had was if it came with a spiced Apple chutney to smear on it I think I would have dreamt about it for weeks. The Danish was the perfect pastry and just the right balance of tart and sweet, creamy and crispy. The bagel was full of flavor on it's own and super light and airy inside. The smoked salmon cream cheese was gorgeous and the cinnamon bun also delicious. Everything was served on cute mismatched antique China plates and the decor was warm and cozy. The place is out of the way on a side street in what looks like a three story white house. Be sure to look and not miss it. It's well worth hunting for. We will definitely definitely go back and often.

Gorgeous treats! Everything was delicious, not too sweet, with emphasis on the flavor of the primary ingredient, e.g. the chocolate fudge brownie was deeply chocolatey and not buried in sugar, the cinnamon bun was spiced well with a little bit of a citrus aftertaste, and the dough was the right pull-apart consistency. The chocolate and vanilla cupcakes are moist and and hearty, and again not over-sweetened. The frosting was light and whipped, beautifully applied, and not overwhelming - the berry flavored frosting was especially nice, tart and sweet.
Great customer service. My friend called in an order of a selection of goodies, and I was meant to pick them up in the morning - but I totally goofed and didn't get around to it until the shop called me a half hour before closing to let me know I had an order to collect. Tammy was very patient with my misunderstanding :)
Wonderful small town family owned bakery.
I really appreciate the COVID safety precautions as well - contactless curbside pick-up is still a very important safety measure, and I am thankful Fernleaf is making the effort to protect their staff and neighbors. Will definitely order special treats from these folks, and can't wait to enjoy a cup of coffee and a treat when they feel comfortable re-opening the cafe. Keep up the great work!
