The Proper Cup

Stopped at this place on the way back from vacation in Acadia. What a gem! The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The latte that they made was excellent perfect texturing of milk and added beautiful latte art to our cups. Thanks! Right off of route 295 which was a triple word score!!

Lovely mocha. Not overly sweet. Best mini quiche I've ever had. Couldn't resist trying a blueberry handpie as well. When in Maine...!

Love this place, nice relaxed atmosphere, super friendly staff and the coffee creations are delicious... I'm a starbucks girl, but if I lived closer I would make this my permanent coffee shop in a heartbeat. I live in the Portsmouth area, but ALWAYS make a stop at the Proper cup when I'm in Maine.

Ah, so great to have a cool coffee shop in this neighborhood. The owners are so nice and the place has a great vibe. Hope they can staff up soon so they can stay open late! Is it just me who thinks a late nite coffee/wifi joint would make a killing in this town? Anyway I love the Proper Cup! My Americano was smooth, and so is the motorcycle on the coffee table - ask Zach about it!

Easy online ordering, friendly staff, and an amazing latte. The seasonal maple sea salt latte had great flavors with just a touch of sweet.

This is the most pretentious, classist coffee shop I've ever seen. You can smell the privilege a mile away. They don't even serve iced coffee because apparently only commoners still drink it. I go in once in a while just to scare the rich folks and remind them that poor people exist.

AMAZING! Especially the Chai, cold brew, and pretty much any pastry! It’s definitely worth what you pay for! Highly recommend!

Owner and staff are wonderful. Always cheerful and effecient. Great coffee. My favorite is the Honey Lavender Latte.

One of the best cups of coffee I have had in Portland thus far. The owners are really amicable and the vibes they have created in this coffee shops are amazing. I highly suggest this spot!
