After moving from New Orleans I thought this place was like the shops back home. Maybe some fresh juices, chicory coffee, natural sweeteners other than sugar...ah perhaps. But no, none of the above and on top of that the coffee I did get was not delicious or even satisfying. I don't know of any good coffee shops in my area here in BR. It's sad :(

To an out of towner, at first glance there seems to be little to this shop... well in the somewhat stark interior there are echoes of decades of pleased customers. GDC is not the first incarnation of this space, but few will remember anything here before (spoiler: yoga studio).
The space has changed names and owners a few times and the current management is the best it has seen.... old story .. employee buys out and runs the place better than predecessors.
Granita Latte is a hidden gem on the menu.. think frozen mocha latte. yummmm.
Oh and those folks in the front patio who look very comfortable may have been there 6 days a week for 2 decades.

Perfect date night coffee place, and a cool location, if you are willing to take a stroll through the neighborhood after your date. I would make this second best coffee place in Baton Rouge.

It's a nice place w/sweet treats and a great cup of Joe! Great patio to chill with friends or yer K-9. "I think? Better call for the ok on K-9's"

Great coffee shop for studying and hanging out for longer periods of time. Coffee was pretty average but the baristas were friendly. I imagine it'd be a popular place for college kids.

Enjoyed coffee and dessert. They have a great selection of desserts! Tucked away on Poet's Corner. Plenty of outdoor seating as well; quaint place.

Cozy neighborhood spot to stop in and visit with friends, very chill atmosphere.Great place as well to stop in and get some work done on computer ie; free wifi. Coffee selections change and amazingly fresh, and pastries for snacking.

Great local coffee shop, seating is not so great. Studying here is highly recommended, the chairs just aren’t the most comfortable. That could be just what you need though, right??

It is a nice place but needs upgrading and more comfortable chairs and tables. The EZ chairs are battered. People are nice and coffee is good.

Cute and clearly a local favorite. If you're looking for a no frills place, this is it. If you're looking for more atmosphere, there are some other coffee places in BR that might be better suited.
