The first time I went to Carabello coffee, I had a great experience-- great coffee & great atmosphere! As a result, I suggested to my friends that we go to Carabello to study for finals. Within five minutes of finding a table and sitting down, the owner introduced himself! Super friendly conversation until he noticed that we had yet to buy our drinks. It was pretty clear that we were just getting settled in before purchasing our food & drinks. Although he attempted to be friendly in his approach, he basically told us that we need to buy a drink now because this "is not a library that is subsidized by the government". It felt awkward as we tried to explain that we were about to head up & had just arrived. He then proceeded to go to the table my two other friends were sitting at. One of my friends was still working on her drink and the other had finished his and had placed it in the dish return. The owner also told him that if he were to stay, he needed to have a drink in front of him. He hovered around to ensure that everyone purchased a drink right away- approaching our table multiple times as if we were a group of loitering teens. This approach was extremely uncomfortable and definitely made the group of us feel awkward and unwelcomed.

This place is just so awesome! The coffee tastes absolutely perfect! Not too roasted as some places can do! And the cold brew coffee is so smooth and delicious.. like I need an IV with it! And the owners are just wonderful people! BRAVO!!

Fantastic coffee/espresso. If you haven't been to the analog bar, it's amazing and very unique. They craft very interesting espresso and coffee drinks there. The staff is amazing and Austin is probably one of the nicest guys ever. Always great conversation there.

My love for supporting small businesses is amplified with Carabello. Amazing staff, amazing coffee and amazing ambience. I recommend getting a bag of whole bean addicting liquid and grinding at home when you can't be here in person. Tip well! They've earned it!

We bought some of this coffee at Newport on the Levee. It looked old and tasted flat. The
date on it was over 60 days old. We ‘ve had the coffee before and it is normally very good.

Awesome coffee! It's not your grandma's Maxwell House percolator coffee...it's 10 steps above! I love the quaint atmosphere and the extremely personable "hosts of the coffee" that serve you! Dave graciously gave of his time to make us feel like a very welcomed part of a family. The knowledge of coffee that has been studied and artistically made with a passion to satisfy the taste buds, is obvious by watching the crew create each and every pallet pleasure of a 8oz cup of java. You have to try Carabello Coffee!! You'll definitely return to revisit that feeling of "Oh my gosh that's wonderful!" Tell em' Doug sentcha! Enjoy!!

Perfect use of a centennial building (formerly residential house?) in Downtown Newport. The walk-up window is very convenient. I love the homemade popsicles here. The internet café room has a well-balanced blend of historical and modern interior design. Analog Coffee Bar is their weekend specialty program that is only open Thursday-Saturday, so if it's any other day of the week, make sure you only sit there after being served elsewhere in the establishment.

Extraordinary coffee! I especially recommend the natural process/dry processed beans. Service is excellent and the space is comfortable. This is the best coffee in the area.

I come here almost every time I'm close! Their coffee is phenomenal, I dream about their English muffins and I always leave feeling better than I did when I walked in the door, and not just because I've been recaffinated. Their staff is always kind and personable! I just wish I lived closer so I could be a regular.

I wish you could give "half-stars" as I'd give this place a 4.5. The staff is awesome - very personable and they will answer questions you have about anything you're ordering. I had a mocha that was out of this world. Much better than many other places. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. My only negative is that they are a tad bit pricey compared to other places. Definitely will be a repeat visitor!
